SANFL owns the Crows licence.
Crows current administration and many supporters despise the SANFL.
Crows current administration and many supporters want to play in the SANFL.

Why then would the SANFL sell the licence on such favourable terms to this bunch of frankensteins.

$15M upfront thanks, let Crows go into debt and have the loans to pay off not the SANFL. Never heard of an owner of an asset getting screwed so much.

I think the Crows are the most unprofessional, inept, poorly run club going around.
What a pathetic proposition ( or lack of ) they have put up to the SANFL. Where is that girl who designed the Power jumper maybe she could do a better job than the Crows management.
Don't they realize they are LOSING local supporters at a rate of knots ! Look at Port Adelaide's changed stance .... intelligent and very clever knowing they will not win. Port Adelaide are the winners in this debate now and have my increasing respect.
Crows are selfish and a joke and should be told in no uncertain terms to xxxx off !

Going by history I'd save my praise for Port until this thing pans out a bit more. At least until the end of 2014 and see how many Power players are moved by stealth to Port Magpies.

Agreed.

Port's decision makes them look the good guys, but, inevitably, if the Crows get what they want, by doing the heavy lifting, Port will too.
It's an interesting turn around isn't it? Port were the pariahs for ruining the SANFL in 1990. Now in the public's eye the Crows are trying to do the same in 2013, with Port looking the good guys. Well played, Port. Canny.

If the SANFL allow transfers then there is no issue, yes?

The Crows have always been a fuzzy, feel good option for many South Aussies. A composite side (not a club in any sense of the word) born in haste, a 'team for all South Australians', a sort of state team in a club team competition. The fans have never had to endure a prolonged period of tough times on the field, they have a massively soft underbelly. All the time feted by an intoxicated media.
No child (Save for a rare father/son situation) can ever grow up confident of ever playing for the Crows, such is the lottery of the AFL draft system spread now across 18 clubs. A membership base with a very limited say in the running of the club. Does any of that really fit into the SANFL profile? NO

I must have missed something along the way.

I'm struggling to see how anything Port has done makes them look good in this debate so far.

From where I sit they realise they're not going to get their way and they've gone back to regroup.

I would only praise them if they said that any plans to put a Reserves team in the SANFL is completely off the table for good.

i wouldnt as that would only mean something until they changed their minds about the situation and decided that "times have changed" or "that was a long time ago" or some other such twaddle to excuse them going back on their word

My praise for Port is based on the fact they will not do anything that destroys the Magpies as an entity. Unlike the Crows they don't want to destroy their roots .... where they came from.
I also agree that Port are probably now letting the Crows do the heavy lifting and will swoop at the appropriate time. Both AFL clubs want what the other is getting so the current arrangement as it stands right now is the best case for each club.
Case dismissed !!!!!!

Since they are partners, I wonder how the SACA feels about that "we" part of the equation UK?

Or perhaps in your world they would be told to "F" off as well?
