Its pretty easy to check if a cars registered. Go to EzyReg and you can check the rego status of any vehicle, regardless of if its your car or someone elses. I know when I drive someone elses car I make sure its registered and their insurance covers me if theres an accident.[/quote]

I drive a company car and don't have issues but since stickers have stopped I have heard of many honest examples of being unregistered.

PS you don't honestly tell me you check, when you drive someones car for rego and insurance!!!

its funny, since the dept of transport stopped issuing stickers, the numbers of people registering their cars late, hasnt increased. neither has the number of people getting caught driving unregistered increased. the people that are getting caught just now have a convenient excuse to blame when they are busted. too bad both sapol stats, and dept of transport stats show that there is absolutely no increase in either statistic over previous years.....

meanwhile, i believe victoria will do away with rego labels as of january 1 2014, leaving queensland as the only state still to have them. seems that most of australia think they were a wast of time, effort and money.

I actually do check. I have the EzyReg app on my phone. It takes 30 seconds to check if a cars registered. I always ask if im covered by their insurance. If they say no or are unsure, I dont drive their car. It happened a few times because I only turned 25 this year, and a lot of insurance policies dont cover people under 25.

Im hearing what ZC's saying, but at the same time, the owner of the vehicls should know where their car is and whos driving it.

Marley Duncan real estate

No wonder they have so many issues with tennants.

We are breaking a lease to move into the house we have brought and have spoke to 3 different people at MarleyDuncan including Hayley (the owner), Dave the husband and some reception lady and have had 3 completely different proccesses on how go about handing in the keys, getting our final inspection and looking at getting our bond back.

This may get nasty.

Yep!!!

The biggest problem is her smart arse receptionist

The conversation went like

Me- I'm ringing to book our final inspection with dave

Receptionist- we don't book final inspections

Me- I spoke to Hayley yesterday and she said to ask for dave today and book our final inspection

Receptionist- well that isn't Hayley's role so I'm telling you how it works.

Me- well considering Hayley owns the business she shouldn't be given out proffesional advice on the business procedures if she doesn't know them. By the way Dave also told me weeks ago to ring him when I was ready to book the inspection

Receptionist- it doesnt bother me whether u get ur final inspection or not u need to hand ur keys back with a reciept to say u have had the carpets proffesional cleaned

Me- no one said we had to get a reciept for the carpets to be cleaned, but my best mate owns a carpet cleaning business and he did them as a moving out gift. So ill get u a reciept but it will only have a nominal fee on it.

Receptionist- I spoke to ur wife yesterday on her mobile and told her ur reciept won't count and that you will need to go through another company

Me- no u didn't she went to work at 8 in the morning came home at 6.30 and the best part is she forgot to take her phone to work and it was with me all day.

Receptionist- I rang her on her work number after sge didnt answer her mobile idiot

Me- ummm what work did you ring and speak to her at

Receptionist- her work place I rang the Telstra and spoke to Melissa Whalan

Me- ummm she changed jobs Monday and hasn't updated her number yet

Receptionist- someone must of spoke on her behalf then at the Telstra store

Me- ummmmmm they don't have a single female who work there including all their management, I think u may be fibbing

Receptionist- hangs up

Ok so i got off the phone to Hayley.

So what is happening is we are breaking the lease 2 months early because of our new house. We gave them notice of us moving out 6 weeks ago. We understood we would probably have to pay rent if there was no tennant until the end of September which sucks but we kind of new that was the case.

She apoligised for all the missed communication BUT apparently they dont do the final inspection until the new tennant is found despite her and Dave telling me numerous times to book in for a final inspection.

The part that erks me the most is that in the six weeks notice they have had they have only shown one person around to look at the house to which no one from MarleyDuncan showed up and my wife had to show the people around the property.

What made me laugh the most was she said 'you can pay out the lease upfront and then we will credit you back any rent if we get a tennant in earlier

my response- you must be on craic, you really think we are going to pay anything upfront and decrease your motivation to get a new tennant even more, get fugged.

I better stay off the alcohol, i have a really bad habit of doing stupid things at the wrong time when fuelled up.
