my main problem with T20 is the large chunk of the domestic season it takes up where it is played exclusively.

Also Shane Warne has retired and Cameron White will replace him as captain of the Melbourne Stars.

Last season Warne took just four wickets @ 39.75.

THE Sydney Sixers still have named nine new members of their Big Bash League squad for the upcoming Twenty20 tournament.

The Sixers latest signings include Test bowlers Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood and Marcus North along with wicketkeeper-batsman Dan Smith and England's Michael Lumb.

Making their debut in the Sixer's colours are former Test batsman North, offspinner Lyon, ex-Test quick Trent Copeland, Sean Abbott and Jordan Silk.

The announcement follows on from the confirmation of Test players Brad Haddin and Steve Smith, Brett Lee, Moises Henriques, Nic Maddinson and Stephen O'Keefe and leaves the team with three spots to fill.

What a DISGRACE that they've virtually scraped the ODD for the continued emphasis on this pathetic form of cricket. It's no wonder our national results get worse and worse.

One day domestic...? Puhleeze.

It's nice that the format much ridiculed by the purists as 'pajama cricket' for decades is now looked at more fondly by them due to t20.

Losing one day games is the death of cricket. Just like the advent of one dayers was the death of cricket.

Melbourne Stars have the best side but will find a way to lose like usual.

Strikers aren't bad, if Hales fires then we are in with a chance.

Sydney Thunder will improve greatly when Dilshan and Mendis are available.

Just think. Without T20 would Warner be playing tests? Or Steve Smith? Without ODI cricket would Johnson have been recalled? I reckon Nathan Lyon may well still be sitting on his tractor too.

Time to get off the high horse with limited overs cricket and realise it's paying a lot of the bills. It keeps kids interested in playing cricket and gets people to actually watch domestic cricket. I am 100% a test fan first and foremost but I'm not too proud to enjoy other forms of cricket and realise the importance to the game overall.
