Decent "workman-like" win against some struggling opposition. 2nd term, and most of the 3rd term was very good. Didn't make the most of the wind early on, and was disappointing not to kick on in the last and win by more. Thought our tackling and general pressure on the Bays was very good, and given the conditions our skills weren't too bad.

N. Daniel, Liddle, Cross, Crabb and Hartigan named best by the club. As is usually the case when you win most players did their bit during the day, especially the backline. Well done to Crabby on finally putting the ball between the big sticks.

The Bays' senior players offered very little.

Another very small crowd at Noarlunga (1100 or so).

Was staggered at half time yesterday when there was no mini league. No wonder South cannot make any connection with the local community

Don't worry about it. The reason won't be good enough.

Weather related perhaps? (Some junior footy in the Hills was canned for example)

Was unusual though.

South definitely do struggle to connect with community football , it always assumed that the kids will come. When they do get some committed ones it is just assumed they will stay. WRONG !! Under 18's copped a belting from the Bays , who are a middle of the road side in the comp . 26-18 v 0-3 not a great result for the lads , some have been in the Junior program for 5 years and you could count on one hand the wins they have been involved in , eventually they will say to themselves WHY are my still here ?

See how much you post after a win.........and how quickly.

But you don't contribute much so it doesn't really matter. ;)

I had heard but not sure of the exact reason...it was perfectly justifiable though.

No Mini-League, No Cheerleaders, no atmosphere.

The Reserves finished relatively early and there was just silence for 10 minutes, apart from when the music man played the "SANFL" announcements CD, but skipped through a few of the tracks partially into them and then gave up.

Thank goodness for the cold because then at least we had something to talk about. Oh, and Dirko could then count the 112 cars parked in the outer.

LOL - not really, a loss was the only expectation I had and that came through.
