Australia's 10th wicket partnerships made 225 for the match, the rest made 341, enough said.
Pretty sad when a 19 year old on debut with only a few FC games to his name shows more skill an ticker than our entire top order, skipper included

Next test I think we can go with 5 bowlers due to the batting abilities agar, siddle, pattinson and starc. Harris for Cowan

To be fair, Clarke got a "corker" in the first dig!

If Clarke, Smith & Hughes had have shown a bit of back bone in the last half hour of play last night we wouldn't have to rely on a 10th wicket partnership.

Cowan out for Warner.

Cowan out for katich would be nice. English form. Stubborn. Would add stability and a calm head.

I'd actually ask Ponting, he's still in our top 6 batsman but won't happen.

Three umpires in the box and each gets one direct job immediately after the ball is bowled.

- No Ball
- Hawk-Eye
- Hot Spot

If they think the umpires decision is incorrect based on their immediate view of the video they press a button to stop play and call a review.

Players on the field and umpire don't need to consider the technology. Only need to call for it if they're not sure if a ball has carried in a catch situation.

Trust the technology, none of this umpires call stuff. That way it is sure to be even for everyone.

They already have 4 officials (2 umpires in middle, 3rd umpire and referee). Use the same amount of officials, just have one umpire on the field and they can swap at drinks breaks. All stumpings and square leg decisions go straight to video review so no need for square leg umpire.

this DRS stuff is easily solved, don't have it. test cricket was much more enjoyable when we had umpires.

very encouraged by the way Australia performed, especially the lower order & the bowlers, no-one gave us a chance. All we need is for the odd big score from one or 2 of the top order & we could easily win this series.

on broad, i personally have no problem with him not walking... None! It's not broads fault he wasn't given out. I will never ever walk personally, so i can't judge him on that anyways. He's certainly not a cheat, he never broke any rules.

What i have a problem with is the umpire... Have no idea how he missed that. Key factor to why we lost, 60 runs less and we win...

Yep no issue with broad or Haddin for that matter.

Its the system thats the issue, the drs sole purpose was to get rid of the howler yet the biggest howler in the game still stood.

Isn't that clarke's fault for wasting a referral on an lbw appeal that would not of been out even with 4 stumps?

Isn't accepting the umpires decision a bigger part of the game than questioning an umpires decision

Personally I would rather see bad decisions influence a game rather than who uses a review system strategically better

I like the system we used in one day state games where they don't refer but the 3rd umpire let's the standing umpires know if they made a howler eg obvious inside edges for LbW and for edges to first slip that are not given out
