Kelvin Smith must be the only option available then if not DC.

Looks like he will get more of a bowl now then!

P.George would be an option. But Kelvin is a gun and would excel in the role.

Would prefer to see captaincy rest in the hands of Trent Kelly and Callum Ferguson.

A lot of pressure would be being put on Kelvin if he is offered the captaincy - how will it affect his individual performance. Some thrive when given the captaincy, but others (particularly younger ones) suffer personally as a result. An appointment along those lines could also ruffle a few feathers of older players. Kelvin is a great guy, but how would they respond to having a much younger captain?

If Ferg and Kells are unavailable for the captaincy due to other commitments (State and Premier League), I would certainly encourage Peter George being awarded it.

Cheers

Wouldn't George be doing as much premier league stuff as Kells?

How much time will premier league players spend at their grade club? Does anyone know how many matches they will be available for? Or whether they will train with them at all?

I was under the impression that they were trying to schedule the Premier League weekends when the Redbacks aren't playing - therefore I'd imagine we will rarely (if at all) see Redbacks players at Grade clubs and the Premier League players will be available about as much as Redbacks players have in previous years.

As a contracted state player, you would think so.

Oh, I thought he had lost his contract, silly me!!
He still has his contract, just never gets selected.. darn State selectors!!
Still, having him is good for my beloved West Torrens :D

Shame for West Torrens that Pudney is leaving but I know Glenelg do a heap of stuff down in Mt Gambier for juniors. Big for them to have any talented kid from down that way come through their club to build that link.

I think our coaching structure has just been finalised and will no doubt be released shortly.

How you getting on FS???

Heard Prospect had Rick Darling apply but was knocked but due to lack of knowledge of club and they appointed Christian Hanna for the coming season.

TTGDCC have just announced the coaching structure

Matt Weaver and Adam Mossop will be overseeing the ‘High performance squad’ and Matt Primer overseeing the ‘development squad’ within the senior structure which Cammo has established over the last 2 years.
Both groups are supported by skills coaches; Peter Sleep, Bob Zadow and Steve Almond who attend every session.

Sleepy will also continue to work with our junior’s one night a week which is a big positive.
The leadership group will continue its role which has served the playing group well and assist Weavs, Mossy and Matt.

Personally, I am happy with this decision and the club has clearly not appointed a ‘coach’ just for the sake of having a ‘coach’. The structure will hold up very well IMO.

Personnel is very well respected by the playing group, they also have other supports around them ie practice captains, match day managers etc plus the strong leadership group. Very confident in what the club has done.
