I'm quite confident that if Rose Park had of lost this forum would of lit up, but no they held there nerves and won the game with 7 wickets in the shed.

I thought Burgo did a good job of the FB group (even though I may have contributed to some of the crap) it was a good resource to get quick updates on match results and performances instead of having to wait for the Sunday Mail or a month later when results were updated.

Anyway apart from that who cares what happens with Baldo next year, doubt he will go to Mt Torrens to play with handbag Hobbs.

I've heard Enfield could be close to securing a player from A&SCA who will be a VERY handy acquisition, him with Potts brother Alan and possibly a hard hitting old player who hasnt played cricket in a few years Enfield might just be able to convert competitive efforts into wins..

In other news, with rumors growing of a couple clubs possibly closing doors and several higher profile clubs enquiring into moving comps, what will churches do to combat this threat?

I think in co-operation with PDCA, churches should become a stand alone 1 day competition maybe make it 45 overs, and look to absorb the 1 day sides within PDCA.

Clubs will still want 1 day sides which would only boost churches whilst making it easier for both associations to manage their competitions.

1 day comp only may encourage new players to the comp knowing games are finished in a day.

No thanks Phantom. Keep it the way it is.

I echo the comments in support of the group set up by Burgo. Having a place for quick results and sharing if other info relevant to the association is great. As for those that abuse it to vent, experience shows that trying to tell them what they are doing wrong is like talking to a brick wall. I'm sure it will be back and hopefully it can remain open for good discussions.

The C&CCA facebook was a great idea and was well liked by most it was only a few individual grown men who were childish in their comments who caused the shutting down of the facebook site.

So maybe you should have said men who have not grown up should not be on facebook!

So how are we all looking for next season. Will any team challenge the Rose Park juggernaut or will the Dynasty continue. I have heard that the Rose Park bowling will only get stronger with one Shaun Holland looking at joining them.
How are Para Vista shaping up? Many recruits?
NEK?

Dutchy to RP?! :? .. doubt it.

Will be interesting to see how Enfield come up this season, believe they have lost a few but may have gained a couple?

Any truth that Para Vista & Fitzroy have approached PDCA?

Well I would imagine that a governing body would approach the inclusion of a new team/club the same way as amateur league and they would come into a lower division and work their way up - whether or not they are above that level, so it wouldn't surprise me if they started in Grade 3 or 4 in their first season. It would create more headaches and bitch fights than it's worth if a club was allowed to enter straight into Grade 1.

Having said that, and given what I have seen/known of PV over the years, I believe they would be competitive in Grade 1 - there is a bit of a gap between Grade 1 and 2, and that has shown in recent seasons with the teams coming up.

Also perhaps it's not because they have (or rather haven't) been "tearing up the comp", perhaps the look to move is more based on longevity and depth of the competition instead of the current condition of C&CCA.

Yes they have names, no I wouldn't be I retired at the end of the last season, and at this stage there is no reason I can see that changing, in fact given personal circumstances may well reinforce my decision.
