Was in the victorious rooms post game and listened to Godden's address to the players. Spoke about the winning being that - character building - and that he was proud of the way the side fought it out until the end.

Godsy then singled out a couple of solid performers for some praise before outlining the rehab plan for tomorrow night, ahead of turning their attention to North next week...

Then, in quite a serious tone, with a real intense look on his face, he made a comment that had all the room cracking up in laughter. Without quoting him verbatim, it was something along the lines of...

"And boys, the most important thing we have to remember to take out of the great win today..." (silent pause for a few seconds, every eye in the room looking intently at Mick)

"Is that I wont be known as bloody Maughen Thiem for the whole week, now" !!!

Great to be back home in Adelaide to get to see the Eags play live. Loved Sumner's game- think he looks a real talent.

Some key moves by Godden. Sumner forward proved to be match winning. Thompson shut down Butcher after being moved to him at half time. Not sure when Giuffreda was moved to Thurgood, but some of the efforts by Giuffreda in the last quarter in particular saved the match.

I thought Borholm and Heinjus did a good job and managed to compete well enough to give the Eagles midfield a chance - this was the biggest concern going in to the match. Borholm also did some handy things around the ground and looks a much better player now than at the start of the season.

That was a must win and now North followed by West and Central. Parry, Rowntree and Grocke still to add to the side. These three sides absolutely smashed us the first times we played them this year so will be interesting to see how far we've come.

I think the biggest question is which one will make the side first from injury Grocke or Kirk !!
Parry is still a few weeks away !!

Grocke told us he'd be back for the next match but I suspect he may not have been entirely serious.

Yes, a very good chance that is the case. LifeFM spoke with Craig Parry, listed in the Budget as having a chest injury, who advised us on air he wasn't playing at the minute due to the 'flu' !!!

Fractured scapula for Parry, happened in a robust training exercise after the loss to sturt.

Yeah, I was aware of the severity with Pazz's injury. It was just interesting that he chose to say he 'had the flu' !!!
