Wouldnt surprise he has been playing with a screwed back for the last few years, i have heard many experts say they expect Clarke to retire at an earlier than usual age.

Who is the next Aussie captain THERE ISNT ONE!!!!

Thats why while its great Chris Rogers is getting a crack we really need to be blooding as much youth as possible to find out who is the next test captain. Possibly the hardest job in world sport.

Fair effort in cleaning up the tail, 8/16, last 5 batsmen were out for a duck. At one stage the Aussies took 6/0 from 29 balls

Starc 4/33
Pattinson 4/56

Going to be interesting to see what the make up of the bowling attack is, for me:

Pattinson- is a cert, he is the world class bowler, the superstar
Lyon- pitches in the Champions trophy spun, boof played spinner even on the seam friendly gabba cert
Starc-bowled well so far on tour, and having a look has had an incredibly good record for Yorkshire the last couple of years in the county comp. He adds variety to the attack i think his in.

That leaves one seam specialist spot left.

Thats leaves Siddle, Bird, Harris and Faulkner.

Faulkner wont play unless Watson goes down and they want to play that semi allrounder.

The English press are talking up Bird saying he would be dangerous against the Poms but i think his inexperince may cost him.

For mine it comes down to Siddle and Harris, Siddle has the runs on the board but Harris is definatly one of Lehmanns favs and having spoke to Lehmann many times at Grand Central he rates Harris as one of the best pacemen in the world.

The team i think will be named for the first test will be

1. E.Cowan
2. S.Watson
3. C.Rogers
4. M.Clarke (if fit)
5. P.Hughes
6. B.Hadin
7. M.Wade
8. J.Pattinson
9. R.Harris/P.Siddle
10. M.Starc
11. N.Lyon

ewwwww yuck.

Either do I but I reckon both are ahead of Khawaja and Smith based just on their batting.

Problem is Haddin is by the far the better keeper no doubt but Wade has been one of our better bats the last two test series, his averaging 40, his first class record is equal if not better than Khawaja so he probably earns his spot just as a batsmen

It doesn't matter how low we go to hide Hughes, he's still horseshit.
