At the time, his performance was worthy of those threads. Now he has West playing a much better style of footy

Plenty of time for it to fall apart.

Have I been in a coma and West won more flags than South under their current coaches?

Same number as Massie but Collins is more likely than Massie ever will

That wasn't my point when I bumped this thread. My point was how things can change so quickly in such a short period. Just 18 months ago South with Fuller where on the way up, played/won a final and looked to really improving to the stage a premiership wasn't out of the question. Almost nobody rated Collins ( and maybe still don't) but his team continues to improve

Bit harsh comparing him to Massie and Fuller when he is 4 and 2 years ahead of them respectively.

Hard to count his first two years because he was so far behind the eight ball when he started. West have improved every year under him. Fuller has had some much thrown at him over the past few years with only one finals appearance. They have had done bloody good recruits come and go. Doubt Massie is good enough to get 6 years IMO

Many would have/did say the same about Collins. West had the guts to stick with him, why wouldnt South or Glenelg do that same?

I would stick with Massie if I was at Glenelg. Young players need at least 50 games to start gelling and playing as a team but Glenelg seem to turnover coaches if the they dont get the results they want. They will improve IMO over the next couple of years when these players mature and grow into their bodies. To me they look like West three years ago.

Fuller on the other hand I think has run his time. Had almost 4 years and because they are good off field he has got what he wanted on field in terms of players. Has any other team had the same number/quality of recruit as South over the past few years? They just dont seem to develop their own players. Have not won a home game for nearly two seasons, a membership of 404 and crowds down below 1500. Would be still be the coach of any other team in the SANFL?

The people who wanted Collins gone were either from other club supporters or people who had an axe to grind. I dont think people realise what/how much he has actually done for the West Adelaide Football Club and those outside the club probably never will. I hope he is appointed again at seasons end no matter what happens from here.
