Plus there's the income from Adelaide Oval.
They're not in a bad position at all.
What will Port do when they're on their own? ... apart from being reliant on AFL handouts or perish?
Come back in 10 years and let's compare the SANFL finances with Port, that's if Port are still a going concern.

Good to hear some of the Eagles junior supporter strategies are working.
My son got his auskick bag today. Full of eagles gear, stickers, cards offers etc. We'll be able to use the family pass on July 20, the rest will benefit a neighbour. Great effort though by the eagles, I hope Centrals are doing the same.
Re the crowds as I mentioned in the other thread, the crowd and power will have to underwrite anything they propose. Their word, research or expectations means nothing.

You think if the SANFL were to cut all ties with the two SA based AFL clubs and the AFL in general for complete autonomy it would survive long term? You have got to be kidding.
Well, I suppose it might. But I think the $65 entry fee to games and $1000 memberships might drive people away.

The concern about the SANFL's welfare is so touching and has a real sincere ring to it. Just like before a certain conference at Victor Harbour all those years ago.

Taking their current financial situation into account one has to ask how they are going to do that? If the do default, what penalties, if any, apply? I am assuming that the Crows have the $'s available.
Maybe we should sell to the AFL and let them worry about collecting the rent.

That is rich coming from you! Seems it doesn't matter when your club has continually had its hand out for $$$?

Ahh, I see. You think because we support the club we actually have a say on the decisions made at board level and are involved in all financial decisions.
Well I can clear this up for you then wild dog. I dont personally have any involvement, nor have I over the last 5 years, on the decisions made at Alberton. I'd suggest most supporters, members and even sponsors would be the same.
Hope I have made things clearer for you.

Yes I see your point and thanks for pointing out the error in my mocking. For your clarification I was trying to draw a correlation between Ports bankruptcy and obvious financial mismanagement and the line that most of its supporters take which is to blame the SANFL who are now in financial trouble for bailing them out. For some of those intelligent folk to then not only promote their concern over the competitions financial health but offer advice is ironic comedy which I suspect is not intended.
I think you could question my logic if you could point out some cases of profile where individuals representing the club have actually been grateful for the money handed over. You see when I hear the acceptance speech of club legends such as Tredrea at the hall of fame publically belittle the organisation that had just bailed out his club, I can't help but reach a generalised conclusion of those that support Port.
In all seriousness In would love to be proven wrong. Koch seems a reasonable guy, wouldn't it be a real gesture of unity if he stood up and thanked the SANFL for helping Port out when it was utterly broke.
