It was more than a tickle, mate. I was on the boundary for LifeFM and boyd came off the ground, hunched over in agony, then proceeded to chuck his ring up. He was then taken into the rooms, where I believe he spewed some more.

Even OTR said he felt Todd was lucky to get away with what was clearly more than a little tickle...

Well today I was told the vision used at the hearing showed Miles pushed off Boyd and there was no strike seen in the footage so he was found not guilty.

The vision might have shown Todd pushing off James, at that particular time, but the club doctor who saw it and James himself know exactly what happened and 'pushing off' someone doesn't result in you coming off the ground, throwing up...

Anyway, it is over and done with now and Todd is free to play on Saturday for North...

Not saying it wasn't foreceful contact given how Boyd was after the event just apparently wasn't striking?

OTR didn't see it ya clown! :D
My mail is the Central player is very ticklish hence why he looked sick.
Don't get me wrong mate, I'm on your side, I've already called for a 2 year penalty for an unprovoked tickle. We've got to stamp down on this behaviour before it esculates to Chinese burns or even worse, this little piggys and round and round the gardens like a teddy bears!
There is no place for any of it in our game!

Port Adelaide skipper James Meiklejohn has been offered a 1 match ban for his last qurter strike, to the mid-riff, of Eagles ruckman Mark Borholm...

Fellow Magpies team mate Mathew Rose was offered a reprimand for tripping Woodville West Torrens' player Lachlan Carey in the opening term...

Both fairly soft reports. Maybe Mickeljohn gets a reprimand tops, the tripping one surprised it even went through.

I think Meiklejohn has carry over points, which may have attributed to the 1 game suspension? The tripping one should have been referred, no question. I have seen worse be reported at the time and a suspension handed out...

A separate issue altogether, I know, but the free kick wasn't even paid with the tripping incident...

Interesting from last Saturdays North vs Eagles clash:

Woodville-West Torrens ruckman Craig Parry has been offered a two-match ban for striking North Adelaide’s Matt Campbell at Prospect Oval on Saturday.

North Adelaide vice-captain Todd Miles has been offered a reprimand for striking the Eagles’ Kane Mitchell at Prospect Oval on Saturday.

I saw Campbell down but not what happened yet there was lot of finger pointing after and directed at Parry. With Parry's record and the Eagles pushing for a top 3 spot you would think he would be more careful but typically belts another little bloke off the play.

I saw the tussle from behind re Miles and Mitchell but couldn't really see what happened. That will be Todd's last chance.

Could this be the end of Craig Parry's football career???

I think he is pretty close now to the suspended games total that gets you deregistered for life.

I dont know how that works, like most suspensions at the moment. Dustin Fletchers most recent report saw his career tally go to 18 games of suspension. I thought 16 games was the trigger point? :?

On the telly, looked like Campbell flung his arm back and inadvertently got Parry on the side of the face, and Parry responded with a semi-serious swing to lower jaw/throat, almost like a stiff-armed headlock. Certainly nowhere near as bad as last year's against North, and perhaps a reprimand for a player with a good record, but pretty dumb for someone whose always got his past hanging over him.

Parry gone, as per new thread.

Maybe there is an AFL exemption for Fletcher or they don't count games from last century.

You are allowed 32 AFL games, but only 16 games in any other competition. If Fletcher was to play in another competition after retiring from AFL, his career tally is effectively 9 games.

Pretty much spot on. Dumb, a reprimand other than for his previous record, but surely a man can't get life for doing that. Up there with the most ridiculous rules that I have ever heard of.

I know that they didn't get suspended every time that they were reported, but how long a career would have Gary Mcintosh with 23 reports, Kim Klomp with 18 reports and Scott Salisbury with 18 reports, lasted with this ridiculous rule.

Why (again?) does the afl have different rules re this life ban issue? Their game is far more "sterile" than any other comp so they should have a less game qualification re suspensions?

Seeing it on the news tonight, it was more of a defintite strike than I originally thought, so no problems with a couple of games, but agree about not getting life for that.
