As Nails says, one might think that the SAFC might have figured out that continiuosly sacking Senior Coaches is not the way to improve the club...

I personally am 100% behind Ron Fuller and the programe of coaching that he is doing at our club. Yes the results are not there yet, but we need to stick with it and give it our full support. For people to be running around trying to stick knives into him and have him sacked before the expiration of his contract is a disgrace. The club made a plan and put him on the five year contract, the club themselves need to be accountable for it.

Well said. South must stick with Ron through to the end of his contract. To axe him prior to the end of next season would only further their reputation of lacking integrity when dealing with coaches.

The players and other members of the football department have as much to answer for as Ron does.

This isn't surprising is it? I hope the club is smart enough not to discuss the coaching position until season end as any mid-year "action" just brings greater adverse attention to the club which is something the club can do without not to mention the financial loss in paying out an unfulfilled contract. Ron himself has been around long enough to know the buck stops at the coach (rightly or wrongly) and given the teams performance i'am sure this news won't come as any surprise to him. The same could also be said for Chris Massie at the Bays, tough gig this coaching stuff.

Interesting times once again!

Oh..... the absolute joy of being a South Adelaide supporter!

My personal view, 5 year deal at the start was always a worry. I know it was to prove to everyone there was stability at the SAFC but I always thought 3 years with a extension if happy was a better option.

It is pretty obvious the playing group are on another planet at the moment. Terrible body language, no team cohesion, the senior players do not encourage younger players, no talk out on the field, game plans that do not work but never get changed, no one looks happy or hurt if we lose (players and coaches)...we are look like we really do not care.

Very obvious to supporters that the playing group are not responding to the coach. There are massive issues, we can all see it.

I am worried about the future as if we do not do something quickly we will self destruct pretty quickly. One worry is the supporter base are slowly leaving...this even includes the few die hards who come out week after week. The membership is also a worry.....404 members ??? Including players.....just terrible. The club got rid of the general membership and made it to expensive for the community to afford a full membership.

Recruitment has not been well done. The BIG names as usual have not performed to the standard and reputation they came over with. So who's fault is that?? I blame the coaching staff. They are the ones who get paid to do it. It is them who run the show. Fuller being one of the only full time coaches and on very, very good $$$'s must be accountable to the performance on the field. it is like running a company....he gets paid the BIG $$ to do it so must take responsibility for the poor performance we are dishing out. It is not like we do not have the cattle as Fuller said at the start of the year "This is the team he wants and has been waiting for.....". If the players are not getting on with Fuller then it is his responsibly to sit down and have it out with them. (Players are leaving this year......in 2014 it will be plain scary to how many more will follow!)

I have seen South play many times times year and they are getting out coached by new team plans and structures. Fuller IMO is getting left behind. He needs to look out of the square and do something different by he never does. He has KPI's that he would have to meet but he is not meeting them...surely questions must be asked????

Fuller will be the one having the last laugh. He has another year on his contract so could just sit on it and see it out .....it will be a disaster as players wont play for him....or....the club pays him out the $$$$ and we more on.

I don't know what direction this will take but I am sure something will blow up very soon......watch this space I guess!!??

No match report for Saturdays game against the Eagles is a worry. :(

Got rid of all general membership options mate.

Only made buy all game membership or all home game membership .

Think about $195 and $135.

Got rid of the $60 general one.

So for shift workers or people who can't get to a game every week it would not be worth it.

I know all money at gate goes to club but you are sacrificing people not wanting to join due to costs.

Perhaps the foul mouthed "cheer squad" that supporters have to put up with at Noarlunga is one of the reasons for your decline.

Same here, however all cheer squads need to smarten up their acts more. BTW the eagles cheer squad at the Northern end on saturday were not angelic at times.

Good thing about sitting in your car, you can abuse any player, umpire, any colour or creed, without upsetting anyone.

Some good points made above Southee.

Just a few random thoughts of my own on the first half of the season. Nothing too insightful, just pointing out the obvious in most cases..

South had 10 guys with 50+ league games next to their name on Saturday. A few years ago it would have been no more than 2 or 3. However despite the core of the league side having been together a while now, the performances from these players is what is letting us down.

Captain Thewlis is having his least influential season to date. Vice Captain Crabb has spent some time in the twos, and most recently was roaming across half forward. (1 goal in 98 games). Don’t feel as though reigning medallist Cross is getting much value for his touches at the moment. Liddle is a champion, but looks to be suffering under the weight of attention from the opposition and the lack of support. Ditto for Wundke. Murphy doesn’t break the lines and carry the ball like he used to. N. Daniel hasn’t been the same player since 2011, while Pfeiffer is a good depth player at best. On a brighter note Redigolo has carried on his excellent 2012 form, while Gotch has put behind a forgettable 2012 with a workman like season.

Stribling is another player with 50+ next to his name. He was in the twos.

Teams won’t win games when their core/leaders are performing so below par. Needed this group to stand up on Saturday when the Eagles got a run on in the 3rd term. Needed to stem the bleeding and sneak the next goal against the tide. Didn't happen.

Brooksby has been the good news story of the season. Developing well, has some mongrel about him, and appears to give a stuff about his game and the club. Liked seeing him having plenty to say to young C. Daniel on the weekend. Hartigan the other stand out, but he’s probably only got 10 games left for us.

We are getting killed at Noarlunga “on the outside”. Visitors are able to find space along the wings, half forward, and use their superior skills to carve us up going forward. We don’t work back hard enough to fill these gaps. Ronny doesn’t appear to have an implemented an effective plan for Noarlunga. Our record there is a disgrace.

Obviously the recruits haven’t fired. No Liddle or Cross who starred from game one. I’m willing to give them time, but we’d want to see something in the back half of the season. Eddy is worth persisting with, playing the toughest possie on the field and coming off a knee.

The loss of Rolfe cannot be underestimated. Our forward line has been so one-dimensional, blind freddy could get a kick sitting infront of Wundke. Snook has tried to fill the void but hasn’t delivered since the early rounds. Need a crumber. Or three.

That'll do...

StKFC- 58 years..

Interesting Cobb and Backwell were mentioned as possible replacements. Surely Tony Bamford would be a better option then both of those boys. Backwell has been assistant coach for 5 mins.

Look around some of the country footy threads and someone's hawking around two SANFL players with 50 odd games experience - a few more leaving South?
