Given that, the AFL is definitely HDTV

There's some hypocrisy considering the Port Power supporters go on about dozens of SANFL premierships, which were all won prior to 1999.

A timely reminder indeed. It is in the dozens! Thanks Barto. :D All this fuss about a handful here and there, all seems a little insignificant. ;)

Anyone know if Rob Kerin gets a vote in all this? I thought he represented grassroots footy and they get a vote on the SANFL executive?

If they were thinking selfishly they could easily vote YES, as a YES vote would drive many current SANFL members back to grassroots footy which would benefit them, I know that would happen with me, Id give up on SANFL footy and go to a SFL or Ammo game every week.

He doesn't. It's just the 8 SANFL clubs, sans Port.

These directors are:

All correct but Kerin doesn't vote on this one. 6 out of 8 needed to change make-up of League as has been said elsewhere.

How will the 2 AFL teams fill 2 sides with only 40 players on their list. I would think you need 50-55 to allow for injuries etc. Also where would the remaining players play if they are not picked for either of the 2 sides.

Port Adelaide's non-required AFL players will be integrated across the Magpies League and Reserve squads. How the other side deals with it is yet to be tabled.

Hold your horses everyone.

The AFL the Crows/Power and Rucci are flying lots of kits at the moment in a sustained effort
to undermine the SANFL and its member clubs, why, to get the lowest price payable to the SANFL
for the 2 licenses whilst achieving a stated goal to have the Crows/Power field their seconds team
in the SANFL.

The Power have ramped up this pressure since before season 2013 by systematically bring a majority
of its "SANFL Aligned" players back to Port Adelaide Magpies.

There has even been statements that Sturt or West Adelaide are a target of take over by the Crows
to ensure they get a league berth in the SANFL.

I say stop being the bunnies in the bright head lights lets strengthen the SANFL case.

1
Get an independent team of known strong negotiators from outside of the SANFL and its clubs
(JO only knows how to sell at the lowest get rid of price, he has proven past history which should
condemn him from ever being part of this decision.)

2.
Give this team the objective to negotiate the best possible price for "OUR ASSETS", Crows/Power
licenses to present to the SANFL and its clubs for final sanctioning and agreement.

That would include seeking offers from other potential bidders beside the AFL, some people laugh
but I bet the Tasmanian Football League and possibly a combined North Qld/NT would love to bid
all possibilities even from within SA should be sought.

Only then will this team be given the next task.

3.
Negotiate a separate deal with the Crows/Power for them to join the SANFL in the SANFL Seconds
Competition, again at the best possible deal for the SANFL and its clubs.

Part of their starting brief should be achieve via the deal with the Crows/Power, TV coverage rights
agreement for the SANFL with either of the ABC/Channels 7/9/10.

We all know who will wind up paying for that deal, yes, it will be part of the AFL agreement for National
AFL coverage. In short the channel successful in that deal (Not our problem)

I am sure a few more deals could be put into place of benefit to the SANFL and its clubs.

I spit on any deal done by the SANFL that actually costs the SANFL or, much loved SA sponsors who we need
at clubs level.

4.
Well I am sure you get the drift of where I am coming from, we need to be the strongest arm at any table,
The SANFL owns the licenses, the SANFL and its club own the League competition in SA

We are not the bunnies sitting in front of the high beam, but we need to up the ante big time.

Time to organise a short term contract for a team of 3 of the best Purchasing Managers known.

GET IT, GOT IT, GOOD.

Cheers,

If Port Magpies becomes the Power reserves in the sanfl league, what's going to happen when the next SANFL club breeches the salary cap? How can the SANFL possibly hand out any penalties when Port Magpies are breaching the salary cap each year by hundreds of thousands of dollars.
You can't have seperate rules for separate clubs.

Personally I think the SANFL will cave. We always do. But I'm hearing mixed reports.

But two things have got me stumped .

Why are free to air stations all of a sudden interested in SANFL telecasts when they haven't been for 20 years. I can pick their individual motives but can't think of one reason they would share.

Why is rucci actively lobbying against AFL reserves ???

Some people know alot more than us is my conclusion.

I found it interesting the crows have reportedly started talks with vfl but a possibility of entry for next season. I dount it but believe that would be a great sign for SANFL if true.
