Serious question if the selectors are seriously looking at Ahmed in the Ashes, wouldn't this tournament be the perfect opportunity to give him some international experience.

Agree i reckon NZ will give this tournament a real crack.

The selectors are copping an absolute flogging but in fairness to them i think we just dont have the cattle in the 50 over batting stocks.

The bloke i think the selectors may have got it wrong with is Voges.

Watson and Warner pick themselves, Phil Hughes had a very good ODI year in Aus, Bailey was our best bat last game so he cant be critisied. The selectors werent the only people who thought Mitch Marsh should be getting a crack either.

I cant think of to many others that should be in the side to be honest, maybe Ferguson to come in and bat in the middle order

Guptill in career best form, dangerous middle order and bowling variety....but we have 7 medium pacers ;)

Im no longer a betting man but if we are favourites im loading up on the Kiwis and paying for an aussie victory or making some $ of us at worst case 8)

Australian batsman David Warner in trouble over alcohol-related incident

DAVID Warner faces punishment after being involved in an alcohol-related incident on tour in England.

Cricket Australia was deciding whether the troublesome opening batsman would play in tonight’s Champions Trophy match against New Zealand at Edgbaston.

Details of the incident are sketchy but there is a possibility that Warner could be sent home.

It is the second time in three weeks that Warner has been in trouble with CA.

He was fined $5750 last month for an expletive-laden rant on Twitter.

CA officials had been claiming that Warner did not drink towards the end of the recent IPL in India as he prepared for the Champions Trophy and Ashes tour to follow.

However several cricket people who were at the IPL were aware of Warner’s regular drinking.

He flew three of his school mates to India during the Twenty20 tournament to keep him company.

Both Warner and the Delhi Daredevils struggled and Warner has hardly managed a run since he has been in England preparing for the Champions Trophy.

He scored nine in Australia’s bad loss to England last Saturday.

Warner harboured leadership ambitions but they now appear a distant dream.
