Looked like a great crowd on TV, which it should have been with no grassroots footy around town today.

That wasn't the one at CHF for the Bloods where both a Bloods player and a Legs player collided going for a mark and the Legs player got the free kick even though both had eyes for the ball???

Anyone want to name and shame the Bloods player who had his kicked chopped off that resulted in that easy Phillips goal for NW in the last quarter???

Yep that was the one, stupid decision. As I mention MacCreadie was in front but the umpire paid push in the back

Not sure who that was, terrible kick.

Not sure who kicked it but was a great interception by Zorzi.

I think the umpire paid the free kick for interference in the marking contest, which was absolute crap, as both players had eyes for the ball. (Although the clash caused the Legs player to be badly winded).

Agree, they remind me of when Centrals were good ;) with how if they play their best it is a gear or two better than anyone else in the comp.

The second and third side could catch em on a bad day and they are miles ahead of the rest of the comp (yes i know the Eagles smashed them but i doubt we will see them have Vince and Mitchell together again either)

I reserve my judgement on Norwood until We play them again. They aren't scoring very well atm & We look like We're starting to get it together, Norwood only just beat Us when We played them the first time this year.

Congrats Norwood. Our first 1/4 cost us. On the other hand well done to our reserves as they came down from 5 goals and won and with no players on the bench in the last 1/4

As stated here a few times West Adelaide are not that good, IMHO I rate them 5th now behind a fast improving Centrals.
Must admit I thought West played a better style of game in the last half and showed that is the only way they can match Norwood.
Norwood will be a lot stronger in the coming weeks with half a dozen first pick players back from injury.
The five is set.

Nice to be back on top where we belong.

Big TV at Richmond was a nice touch pity it did not work for the whole game and a much better playlist from the Westies DJ so well done on that side of the entertainment.

The legs played an awesome first quarter so now need to roll that out for longer.

Look forward to seeing James Aish, Webber, Juice, Bryce, Baulderstone and Jesse Aish join us again over the coming weeks as we start to tune up for the run into the finals.

Poor effort in the 1st qtr - Well played legs. Last sunday took a lot out of the players at prospect and they looked flat and Norwood came off the bye. Saying this, our match ups early were terrible. The bye has come at a good time for westies, it looks as though it is needed.

Thought when we (West) went man on man in the forward line was a great move and changed the game from being one sided to a contest. If we have learned anything, then next time we play norwood, I'd love to see the same structure employed as it stopped Norwoods backmen spoiling the ball to the +1 and using an overlap and excellent kicking skills to split us apart. When we had equal numbers on Nd's backline, we had accountability, pressure acts and turnover goals.
I am more confident playing Norwood going forward even with them changing their side IF we play this second half structure against sideds like North and Norwood in the future. The GF is still wide-open.

On another matter, I note Port Melbourne had the bye this weekend. Tough ask to play 3 days later for west, travelling interstate. You'd think the foxtel cup could get its programme a lot fairer...

Spoke to some Nd fans after the game and we were discussing the AFL crap. They are going to canvass Tripodi to keep pressure on from their clubs perspective- bravo chaps. At this stage, the West director is voting NO although one small element in the cub wants a yes! The SANFL leak to Ch 7 & 9 is a worry. The paper hasn't even been looked at by the 8 club directors. This is a ploy by the AFL sides to bluff our clubs.

One element that worries me is the directors don't have to vote the way their clubs want them too. I can only assume the directors representing other clubs are honourable men who wont have their votes bought by the afl.

Had an excellent day at Richmond yesterday with some Westies mates. Really impressed with our form in the first quarter, there was some pretty lethal footy amongst it. From a purely biased point of view, I thought we stopped taking the game on a lot thereafter and almost played with a heavy emphasis on defending the lead rather than extending it. West obviously made changes to their style and structure, so that might well have been the reason, will have to wait for the replay. Will also need to see the replay to get a better look at the Free kick in the last quarter. From where we sat it looked like Ferguson was going back with eyes only for the ball (as McGuiness had done earlier in the game too) with stacks of courage, was pretty disappointed to see him penalised at the time. Spent an hour or too on the deck and then (imho) the best bar in the league. Even got to hear Collins run through the post match presentation, and he spoke very well, was enjoyable to watch/listen.

SDK - No offence but... sometimes it's is better to remain silent and look stupid, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt. How many goals have you kicked for Norwood? I would'nt take too much credit for how many suporters they have.
