Shane Warne has fair dinkum lost the plot the crap he has dribbled this whole innings is laughable. Apparanttly England are way behind the 8ball at 1/123 after 27 overs. Is he for real? Agreed its a 280-290 pitch but has the great man every heard of wickets in hand at the end of an innings my god. I loved Warne as a cricketer but the shit he is coming out with these days.

I wonder if he seen the 65 the other day

True but i think his point is more that in the England batting line up there is only 2 blokes who have the ability to accelerate the scoring rate and that it puts a huge reliance and risk on them to get the score from the 220 to the 280 mark.

Agree Warney is losing the plot and is a parody of his oldself.

Australia have definatly set out to contain England rather than attack and look for wickets. I think their relying on the England batsmen throwing their wickets away once they look to up the rate.

Personally i think this game will be won between the 35th-45th overs of this innings.

Sounds stupid but England's total will have a huge outcome on the mind set of Hughes and Watson whilst they bat. Warner's mindset doesn't change but score board pressure on Watson, Hughes and even Voges for mine will be the key.

I would've thought from this position England would be disappointed with anything under 280-290 where as the Australian mind set would be happy to chase 260-270. Your right tho this power play and the 5 overs after is the key

Eng 3-189 (37)

Faulkner gets Bell with a corker.

Australia bowling fairly well with a really clearl plan in mind.

Unfortunatly with Broad, Anderson and Bresnan England already have 89 to many on the board. ;)

Not sure it was a corker Bell just played over the top of it but in the book it says bowled.

Very soft dismissal by Root. Playing in to Australia's hands here

England 4-205 (42)

Bailey has set a real defensive field expecting the bowlers to pitch it up and mix their pace, happily conceding one run a ball. Working at this stage.

Pathetic batting.

Every dismissal thus far has been been from poor shoot selection.

Unless England have a huge last 6 overs you'd expect Australia to be favorites at the change of innings.

Its pretty standard for the modern day player imho.

Tie them down, cut out the boundaries and they will generally play a poor shot.

Same as when you have the modern day batsmen come out and have to score quickly like in this innings, they try and do so from ball one and dont get themselves in before playing extravagent shots.

I agree with Warney on the reason why Swann and Finn arent playing.

I think the Poms are playing ducks and drakes (is that even the saying) ahead of the upcoming ashes.

I doubt it. Although very surprised not to see Finn in the side. They say Swann is injured.
