What if their was a South West conference- Port, Adelaide, West coast and Fremantle

Either that or if you want a top up player from a SANFL side you cough up a decent sum of money
or we could just get them to leave their sanfl club go back to ammos and take them that way.

Fair comment.Armytank wrote:I'll give you some credit for having a crack at putting a solution together and then having the balls to put it on a forum who's main contributors are SANFL followers.
But seriously, that in no way is any good for the SANFL, from the SANFL perspective it is a $hit idea.
Good effort but try again

Put it this way it's not worth carving up the SANFL comp for. I think everyone copies the best team and fair enough I guess but is Geelong's "reserves" side the main driver of their success?
Good leadership, good drafting, good rehab, good coaching and probably 10 other things would be more important as an outsider looking in.
I feel a bit for Port fans on one level because the Crows seem to be leaving all the heavy lifting on this issue to the PAFC yet we are in it as thick as they are I assume.

True...stan wrote:There are always pros and cons to this, but I havent heard of a proposal thats a win win for all parties. Even if say Port's reserves are the MApgies, thats ok I guess for now, but with the crows, that will bring in a 10th team. How do you fill the crows side to make sure they have at least 21 each week. With injuries, suspensions from the AFL side etc, this could be tough without getting players from other SANFL teams. I dont know myself how this would all work but I would hate it if say my team Norwood became a crows B team. Same probably with other teams as well.
But on a pro point of view for the current system. West v Norwood on the weekend. Port had the bye and were able to have there ruckmen going against each other all day. Now you can't tell me that wasnt a good thing for them? I could be wrong but thats an example.
Also the way it is now the players have to earn there spots in there SANFL side. There is nothing wrong with that.
