Ha ha, he's been my favourite player this year from the minute I laid eyes on him, JTC

I spotted him in the Roosters first trial game at the start of the year, so I get first dibs on him, especially if he wins the Magarey ;)

Disregarding all that, he is certainly one of the best players I have seen in the SANFL for 10 years !!! 8)

No - still has hamstring "tightness" and the fitness staff want him to ge through a full week on the track. There is some talk if he is cleared fit to play that he may come straight into the League side off the bench as second ruck and also gives us another fwd target.

The ball was over the line, the boundary umpire, right in the vacinity, had well and truly blew his whistle to say the ball was out, even before Bricknell tackled Thring...

Bricknell then choses to 'go on' with the tackle and sling him to ground, totally unnecceasrily. I didn't see too many Westies fans disagree with the decision either...

Doesn't matter if West people agree or not, the umpiring didn't lose or win the game. To counter the supposed bad call re Thring, West got 2 really soft frees from ruck contests in front of goal and scored 2 goals. Thring still had to kick a goal from an acute angle and given it was a free and a scoring chance that was probably the best spot on the ground for West to conced a free! Plus Gordon kicked another goal after Thring so we still would have won!

Was he supposed to kick into the man on the mark?

Agreed, the umpire didn't seem to pay too much attention to the angle Thring should have ended up being on...

The Sleeping Giant wrote:Was he supposed to kick into the man on the mark?

No, but he would even admit he snuck a few extra degrees on the angle because of the uniqueness in angle of that SW pocket...

Watching the vision back, Bricknell proabably should have questioned the mark more with the umpire, to get Thring on more of an angle than what he ended up taking the shot from...

If he crept around much further he'd have ended up under the scoreboard! Otr, only saw the recovery session, of course it wasn't the only questionable decision all day, just the only one I saw
