I stood by their supporters for a good portion of the match, didn't stop whinging at all. Every free lonsdale got, they whinged, abused umpires etc from sidelines.
At this stage, they were up by about approx 12 goals, and still crying when free kicks that could go wither way went to Lonsdale.
I say, you're up by 12 goals or so, stop whinging, and get on with the game.

Not as professional? cannot agree with that. Wont bitch and complain let results do the talking. Supporters complain in every team if you think its just brighton you dont get out enough. What control does the playing group have on supporters??? NOTHING!

At last someone who knows something about footy....well done Disco Stu....this forum has been crying out for some thoughtfull insight in order to balance out the crap some write (i'm pointing at you Mexican)...

I see....so its the professionalism of the supporters that determines the success of the team on the field....interesting concept..

I played in the game on the weekend...and I can tell you it is hard with so many young guys to remain focused on the team game when you win by so much...looking forward to some real competition...Lonsdale have not improved at all....stagnant team - stagnant club..

Now im confused i thought the dirty Drapers had retired ? Havent seen their names in the goalkickers this year? They usually feast on the weak prey and then go missing when they play the real contenders. So which of the brothers are you dippy dog and why do i not see your name in the goalkickers against weak opposition on saturday? Are you waiting for Aldinga and Hackham cocktail wiener ??

SFL 'tribunal' is a laughing stock...

Christies won by three points last weekend, Wise played CHB all day, wonder if he could of been the difference between Flaggys winning or losing. Surely the tribunal could of made time to have it before last weeks game. The loser of that game will find it hard now to play finals.

neither team could honestly say that they deserve to play finals footy could they? strike!

I didn;t have a problam with any of the Brighton playing group, except for maybe their ruckman, who is dirty every time I see him play.

I just mean, I watched Reynella beat lonsdale by 12 goals last week, and was in amongst their supporters for the second half, and they didn;t whinge and carry on like the Brighton supporters.
And i've noticed the same when playing valleys, or M Vale. Everyone expected Brighton to win comfortably and after running away after quarter time, kept control of the game. So when lonsdale are getting some free kicks, who gives a sh*t, just get on with it, the result was never in doubt.

good on ya for taking a cheap shot at the club too. you're a hero

and to say lonsdale haven't improved is bullsh|t. brighton used to beat us by a fair bit more than what you did on Saturday.
We lack a bit of depth at the club, which is slowly improving, but we had about 6 first choice A graders unavailable this week, and our captain went down very early in the match, and didn't return to the field.
We made you look good in the third quarter kicking 2 goals 8, to your 1 point i believe, and you kick 5 unanswered goals in the last few minutes, stretching the margin to about 16 goals. making the result look worse than it was.

Big deal mate, surely brighton weren't happy with only winning by the amount you did.

Surely if a team is being beaten by so much each week, and has serious discipline issues on the ground, couldn't the league just terminate the club until they get it back on track, and if they can't then too bad.

WHEELS&DEALS wrote:Having a look at the score in the paper and over the first 6 rounds, can anyone see the S.F.L. surviving the way ther are? It is easy to see that the league needs to be divided into 2 division, but even doing this will still create very lopsided competition. Say the league can attracked another 4 teams into the comp even 2 (that would be hard enough), that would create 2 divisions of 8 teams, the top 3 teams in each division would still go out and destroy the other teams each week, the more i look at it the worse it gets for the S.F.L. The likley hood of hackham surviving, the talk of a few teams looking at changing leagues, this just isn't looking good. I know the league is proud of the amount of junior teams that are playing at the moment but even that is a bit of a sham, how can the let the power house clubs have dual sides when other clubs are struggling to get 1 team up and running. This year M/vale have daul teams in every junior grade, what happens when there kids from there 2 under 18 teams have to go up and play senior football? Both there senior teams are dominating, most of those kids want get a game and will end up sitting out of footy or changing leagues because they won't go and play for another club in the same comp. Why not cap the junior grades at a resonable number (not 50 as is now) and try and spred them out to the other clubs. This will let the kids grow up in that club and hopfully filter through to there senior teams. It is about time the S.F.L. grew some balls and stopped letting the top clubs get what they want and helped out the ones who need it the most, THE LEAGUE IS ONLY AS STORNG AS ITS WEAKEST CLUB. So at this point in time it would be one of the worst going around. Just think what would happen in 2008 if Hackham folded Morphy Parks went to SAAFL, OSB went somewhere else, Aldinga went to great southern, that only leaves 10 teams. Lets see how long other teams would last at the bottom of the ladder before they started to think what are we doing here? Even the top teams would be thinking by then if not now, we want to play in a competition where we can play teams of the same level. I give the S.F.L. maybe 3 years at best before they are swallowed up buy the other leagues. Anyone care to comment :?: :?: :?:

How many kids are gonna take it well that they arent good enough to go and play at the club they want with there mates? Do you honestly think they will willingly go to another club or just watch each week? you will lose more kids to other sports if you can't let them play with there mates everyone knows thats one of the great things about our game at times when people come knocking throwing money at players the number one thing against someone taking it would be mates take that from a kid growing up and they just wont play if they don't enjoy it

I would have thought Saints easy but after last weeks result you would have to say shoes might be able to take this game. Could be a close one and favour the home side. Where is it played ??

How can you say that your working on your depth when you don't have any junior sides? If you look at the strong clubs Reynella, Morphett Vale, Valley, Cove etc. they all have strong junior programs if you don't have juniors whose going to replace the players who retire or are ruled out through injury each year?

Not sure??? Who is in the association squad and how many from each club?
Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.

I think that they do have a full squad of junior teams for the sunday comp, which is the place where they are going to start, as they missed the boat for a few years. You have to start somewhere, and i think this is where they have started working on there depth, but it will obviously be a few years away.

As someone said earlier, when teams have dual teams and have 50 kids in each grade there are only so many kids in the area. If every club had 1 side only in each junior grade eventually it would even up a bit.
