21 Jump Street

Helluva lot better - and funnier - than I expected.

"The Real McQuade Brothers" cameo was great, too.

Holly Robinson still looks fine...

Red State

Kevin Smith should stick to low-budget indie stuff.

They're his best films.

Shutter Island

Pretty meh.

Watched The Hangover Part III on Friday night.

Now, I go to the movies about as often as St.Kilda play in Grand Finals so I dont have a massive back catalogue of movies to compare it to.

If I gave the first one 9/10, the second one 7/10 I'd give the third one 7/10 too. It gave enough belly laughs to be a pass mark, changed the whole premise of the trilogy enough to keep you guessing what was going to happen even though you knew what was eventually going to happen.

Alan and Chow pretty good in this one.

Think the actors are on public record that the third is to finish the story. Will not be another one

Part II was really predictable, like a remake of the first but set in Asia.
Politicians kissing babies for good luck,
TV preachers sell salvation for a buck.

While Hangover 3 wasn't amazing, it was pretty good, had some really funny moments. Alan and Mr Chow make it worthwhile.

The last part of part three would make a great start to a forth one so it's a little disappointing they're not making another because it would be funny to see how that turns out but I think three is probably enough.

That's what they may have said, but anything could happen. Didn't they say the same about 'Fast and Furious'?

The Hangover franchise is too big a ca$h cow.

Studios will milk it dry.

Though key cast and crew might not be involved...

Yeah, could be. Part III pretty much closes the book on those guys.

Caught first one on TV again last night. Holy s#!t, that trilogy went downhill fast. Final chapter is pretty nasty. And painfully unfunny.

Mel Brooks is spot-on:

"Sometimes movie comedy gets lazy. They go for a lot of sexual or physical jokes. They lean on them. I mean, I'm a master of vulgarity - but not just plain old vulgarity. There's just too much dirty words and dirty activities that are not woven into the plot correctly. It's just dirty for dirty's sake."

Yeah, I didn't expect it to be so full-on.

Good comeback after Cop Out.

Actually, Zack & Miri was pretty good, too...
