I guess that's what the $100,000 prize money is for.

Working wonders apparently.

Well it's gone from 3 teams from SA wanting to compete, to 8 out of nine. Norwood are resting a few I see, and can't blame them, but it's still a decent side.

More like willing to compete. And no doubt the Norwood side will be a good side compared to most football sides around. The point is whether Norwood are going full bore to win and the answer is no. They opted to focus on the SANFL competition first because they were asked to choose which was their first priority. Despite your best attempts to twist things around in your usual cynical manner the point behind my first post still stands and that is in order to ensure full participation by the clubs changes must be made. These are that clubs can't be expected to have an increased workload and then they must be given enough of an incentive to win to ensure they don't send anything but their strongest possible side.

How the F@#$ would you know if Norwood are going "full bore" for a win or not? Who asked them to choose between the SANFL comp and the Foxtel cup as a priority? 8 of the 9 teams are/were willing/want to compete apparently. You and I can't speak for every club, even our own. Prize money has been increased to "compensate" for the extra workload. Sorry if having a different view seems cynical too you. Some things never change.

Fair question, can't judge their race until they've run it.

I realise Mr Davies mentioned this figure recently, and apologies if I've missed something since, but are we any wiser who the "one" is, given the new parameters?

I think we have made it well known where it lies in our priorities by the team we have picked for tonight, the comp needs changes if they want teams to take it more seriously

It's Norwood playing FFS - have it at The Parade and we might turn up

Because it is made for Foxtel and Coopers Stadium doesn't have the right infrastructure for an ABC domestic broadcast, let alone a national set up, with Foxtel.

It's their competition, Fox pays for it, so they have the say in where and when it is played.

I barrack for both clubs so would have gone to The Parade (brings back memories of the Escort Cup), but I'm not going down there to freeze my ass off

Did Weslo request police intervention to stop traffic loitering in the area?

As much as I hate Norwood - when it comes to the national stage I hope the SA teams do well. At least if Norwood do lose it won't be to a team from a "C" grade comp as was the case with the Port Magpies embarrassing loss to Morningside!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

The team we have selected is actually better than I was expecting.
I also believe Norwood are in it to win it.
Some of these lads are real close to league selection anyway, so great chance to impress.

2 degrees warmer inland ;)
I dont have to drive an hour there and back to have it done.
I'll drag the TV outside, stick the speedos on and sit in the pool instead.
Save a couple of hours driving anyway

We're all thinking the same thing aren't we?

There is a lot of negativity about the Foxtel Cup but I'm really looking forward to watching Norwood play tonight. GO LEGS.
