Can pay it against the bench, but not the crowd.

I can't find anything that suggests a free can be paid against the crowd.

If your referring to the Umpire giving Pooraka a free kick in the Reserves on Sat, I would have thought it was not a complete surprise.

Most umpires don't do it but on Saturday, one Passionate GG supporter just got a bit too carried away and was almost over the fence giving it to the umpire so he gave one away. Pretty sure the coaching staff knew it too as one official walked over to gently ask this chap to pull his head in. I Thought it was fair enough under the circumstance, The older umpire gave the GG crowd a clip verbally as well, everyone probably getting a bit emotional during the heat of a close game.
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

I'd say Salisbury West have surprised many people with where their at at present.
Definately shocked me after losing over 10 players from last year.

I can't find anything that suggests a free can be paid against the crowd.

I don't know the circumstances (and this is not a pot shot at anyone), but an umpire threatened to do the same in the Eliz v TOS div 5 res game on the weekend.
It makes for an interesting scenario. I'm not sure that, unless the person is using overtly offensive or threatening language, it can ever be justified.

Still in pretty good knick. Soft is spots. Inconsistent is a good way to describe the surface
I imagine it will deteriorate once we get 1-2 weeks in a row with lots of rain

Inconsistent?? Lindblom Park?

I am probably Biased but I think it is in good knick, We've played at BL and I thought that was inconsistent, one end chewed up the other end lush, Morgan Oval massive step up to the cricket pitch in the middle of the oval as well as the manhole at about the forward flank northern end - not great.

I understand GG new oval to be 2.0m lower at one end to the other as well. Without having played everywhere, I think it is in great condition.

By inconsistent i should have elaborated. I think there are some patches particularly on the outer flanks that are much softer than other spots. Gives way a bit easier leaving an 'inconsistent' footing in parts. It is in pretty good knick though

Is a bit of a drop to one end of our new oval. I don't feel you notice it a lot though. Ball carries a bit kicking with it but its not a disadvantage going against it

Only bad thing about lindblom is that the surface can be pretty hard at times

Yeah the surface is actually holding up well and looking good, a few spots on flanks were a little heavy on saturday but there was alot of rain around last week, all in all its a good solid surface

What are you talking about ???
The guy has been spoken to and his sons fined by the club fines group.
If it is the Pooraka umpire then I can understand people getting frustrated because if they don't understand David then they get frustrated. I understand him and I always demanded my players respect him even though he is a bit different. Just calls it as he sees it.

It is used to fine players for doing dumb stuff. All proceeds go towards the footy trip. And because the spectator has 2 sons playing, they both copped fines
