Thought the same when I first heard about Sheedy's comment but I think he was taken well out of context.
He is the least racist person you could come across.
He is correct in a way, GWS crowds wont improve much due to the high level of immigration in Sydney's west, most people that move there have come from a soccer background hence the crowds were huge for the Wanderers in their first season. GWS will always struggle for crowds

You could be right but that would only be on the basis of the AFL continually propping them up.

WSW is the perfect location for an A-League side, much like if one was based in the Northern Suburbs here in SA, you would be hitting a market which is almost a soccer area over football.

Yeah many have come and gone in the history of the A-League/NSL!

Big issue with these clubs especially like North Queensland or Gold Coast is they just dont have the supporter base to survive when the team is struggling, its all good and well to get 10K a game when your sitting top but when your bottom and get 2-3K it hits the bottom dollar.

Unforuntaly for the A-League there always has to be teams struggling on field.

Back on topic, I agree with Rhys Stanley nomination. He is 23 this year, his time is now to prove himself.

As a defender he is intimidated, and this may be due to body size. He is using his hands in the back a lot and giving so many frees inside the defensive 50.

As a forward/ruck last year, not quite there, Averaged 4 marks, 6 hit outs and less than a goal a game.

As a fellow Riverlander, I hope he goes well, gets some continuity into his footy and plays some good footy, but for the moment, although not a top 10 dud, he rates a mention.
