I was wondering why you used the loophole on Selwood's score. I'm happy you're tanking our match, was worried Murphy might go berserk if you had him Captain.

Premier league is where my focus will always be, much tougher league IMO, i'll let the champs league results take care of themselves.

But did you catch the Hartlett bandwagon?

:?

I started Hartlett and was really happy until the last two weeks. Surely he's carrying an injury? I can't believe a player of his quality is fully fit but getting so few possessions.

With Trengove down they are using him more as a tall defender, don't know why they choose him.

I need Marc Murphy to score at least 95 tonight to win Premier and, Lobster same opponent Buddyroughhawks and also need 94 from him to win TS League.

He needs a big second half to get there on 30 at half time.

There are no unbeaten sides in the Premier League after Poon Army and Texas Danger SSC were both defeated on the weekend. The Army's scoring was well down at the worst possible time, during a match up against the dangerous Darksiders who are once again looming in contention for the premiership. Hondo's combination was one of a couple of sides that suffered from Bradley Hilitis when there was already much shuffling and rearranging going on. The Texans got little out of their more inexperienced men and the powerful Underdogs swooped on the win to move into the top eight.

Most of the bottom ten teams fought back well this week as Gingernuts has finally seen fit to join us defeating Dutchy's Dodos and booting the dead birds out of the eight. Apart from bragging rights, the Ninjas also climbed off the bottom of the ladder. The chardies were left the only team without a win in the Premier so far this year as coach finn is struggling to gain access to the technology, an unforgiveable lapse at this level which grateful opposition coaches are taking advantages of.

Last year's Grand Finalists, Q Before You and Captain Who regained some form but perhaps the most emphatic return to form was displayed by MILLERS MOSQUITOES who flogged the Squeakeroos. wycbloods cheered a struggling Murphy all the way to the finish line and this earned Buddyroughhawks an upset win over dual premiership winning Longwood Lions.

The Spuds haven't been given much of a write up this year but they've had a good week also at the expense of Cork in the Ocean that lost the opportunity to move on to four wins with Poony and Tex. CoverKing is really struggling this year and he pulled a clanger this week when he got flogged by Q. I always feel much better about things when I am above Woggy on the premiership table and that has now occured after Hawkeye was pantsed by the Captain this week.

I have horror memories of Murphy from the exact Monday night game last year v St Kilda.

I'd traded Ablett to Murphy a week earlier and from memory Ablett had then returned from injury earlier than I expected so I sat on my phone sweating Murphy v the Saints watching a bad SC score unfold. Then the next week I think Dangerfield smashed his shoulder.

At the start of this year I though Smurph was a good pick and he was on my shortlist without making the final cut. As it has turned out he's really sucked basically.

I have made some bad decisions this year but the Beams out in the first round has really thrown my team out of kilter from a Captains choice perspective and I have been playing catch up ever since. Karnezis, Byrnes, Roughhead, Greene, etc. I thought I would start to do something right with Murphy, but no, he backfired.

I will curse a Collingwood player next week.

Even if he was fit I wasn't keen at all on Beams this year. Even Cotchin was a similar risk that is one huge year and then the Premium Price Tag. You don't mind paying that much for Ablett or Pendles but wasn't so keen on Beams. I like Cotchin because of his contested footy numbers which is why guys like Selwood, Watson, Dangerfield and Kennedy are on my watch list.

I was also keen on Murphy as an underpriced premium at the start of the year so thankfully dodged that bullet.

Round 6 Previews

Buddyroughhawks v. Poon Army

Poony fell off the wagon last week (not for the first time either) when they got rolled by the Darksiders while Buddy racked up another win to threaten the top eight. Poony has a few issues still in the backline and will be hoping that Hartlett is freed up or watch his value drop. I reckon the Poon Army can win this and stay on top of the ladder.

Darksiders SCE v. REBCats Match of the Round (he says)

After three straight wins my REBCats have snuck into 5th but I reckon my boys might get found out a bit against Darksiders, a team I don’t have a great record against (not too many have). The Darksiders have a much stronger midfield as I went the rookie route in the mids and guys like Kommer, Hill and Viney have made my side reasonably vulnerable at times. I’m tipping a Darksiders SCE victory but while there is life there is hope.

Longwood Lions v. Dutchys Dodos

Don’t look now but all of a sudden both of these sides have moved into Struggle Street with last year’s magic touch appearing to have deserted Alaska this season. Could it be that he is thinking of hunting Crocs and as a result he has been trading them in? The latest Crock to trouble the Lions is Carlton’s Marc Murphy who looks an even worse buy than Juddy at the moment. Still, I’m selecting Longwood Lions to win as the Dodos are starting to look ripe for extinction.

chardy socialists v. Squeakeroos DTC

I keep on rating Squeaky and he keeps on letting me down (bet he plays a blinder against me though DOH) but surely he gets the chocolates in this match against the weakest team in the league, the chardy socialists. The chardies’ manager hasn’t been seen in the change rooms in recent weeks and the players have been breaking out the long necks and unfortunately, the donuts. It’s hard to see anything other than a Squeakeroos DTC victory in this one.

The Ginger Ninjas v. Spuds

A fortnight ago this one might have been considered the Spud derby but the Ninjas awoke from an extended period of meditation to knock off Dutchy. The Ninjas need this one to get out of the relegation zone as a 1-5 record is not one that bodes well for survival with many bottom ten teams scratching out wins in recent games. I reckon it’s going to end in tears for Gingernuts this week though as the Spuds are in the mood for dancing. Spuds to win.

MILLER MOSQUITOES v Texas Danger SSC

After visiting the trade table last week, the MOSQUITOES appear to be back to their bloodthirsty ways after racking up a massive score last weekend. The Texans on the other hand, are looking a little wobbly after being one of the more impressive teams in the first month of competition. I get the feeling that the wind of change has come and with the wind comes the MOZZIES. I predict that the MILLER MOSQUITOES will salute and hand Texas Danger their second loss for the year.

Cork in the Ocean v Captain Who?

Corky copped a narrow loss last week and now face the mighty Captain who appears to be gearing up for a strong title defence. Both teams are in struggle town in the backline at the moment and the Captain appears to be more of a ‘development’ team at the moment. I reckon the Captain will finish ahead of Corky by the end of the year but at the present moment I’m selecting a Cork in the Ocean victory in a close one.

Underdogs v Q Before You

Both teams had excellent victories and top scoring last week but the Q Man looks the stronger in this matchup as he definitely has his swagger back up after racking up 2300. Underdogs are never a side to be taken lightly though and represents a significant obstacle for Q who is trying to re-join the top eight. I’m liking Q Before You to win this one in another match that could go either way.

Hawkeye v Richo Richo Man

No one puts a curse on a team quicker or better than me as both of these coaches could verify. Pre-season I tipped Richo to win the comp and by round 6 CoverKing is using the ‘R’ word. Every time I select Hawkeye to win a game he comes on this forum and blasts me because he knows a loss is on the way. At the moment Richo Richo is really struggling so it will be Woggy who comes on again to pay me out as I am selecting a Hawkeye victory.

Ill take another loss this round I expect. I deliberately took on a donut in defence to prioritise Buddy which has cost me about 40 points and in hindsight I should have delayed him.

Darksiders have it in the bag. I've got Gibbs and Shaw on the bench and copping bugger all from Clarke. Kommer in the mids is killing me as well and he has six guns in there. OUCH.

Poon Army was tested by Buddyroughhawks this weekend with the top side only just hanging on to win the game. Poony's win gives Hammo a four point gap at the top of the ladder after Hondos Texans were rolled by MILELR MOSQUITOES. Spuds and Longwood Lions (not sure what Alaska is worried about TBH) who racked up massive wins in a comp when massive wins are a rarity. Some handy percentage boosters there.

The bottom sides continued to struggle with relegation fears looming large for the bottom four sides as Dutchy and Gingernuts in particular failed to score well and were thrashed this week. Chardies were more than a little unlucky not to open their account but at least they got back amongst the points which will give finny some hope. Q Man could be the sleeper in this comp even if the ladder doesn't exactly show that with MILLERS also a side to watch. Buddyrough a little unlucky to be out of the eight after a narrow loss to the top team and the less said about my effort against the Darksiders the better. One of these days I'll beat that mob!

I looked completely gone into Vlastuin pulled 141 and Gawn got 29 for Millers to match my fail starter in Daw.

Then i only needed Danger to get 115 but it wasn't to be. Millers doesn't have Dwyer, Lonergan or Vlastuin going forward but then I don't have Terlich.

I got lucky in being able to swing Stevie J into my mids at the last minute and get Lonergan's score but in the end the donut got me.
