My opinion is that with more discipline that gap should close right up!

What a useless stat to take.

No affilliation, we just gave them a big bag of cash each before the game ;)
What a stupid thing to say.
The umpiring wasn't good but it went both ways.
Was still a good game of footy to watch and luckily it went our way for a change!

Not stupid at all was a genuine question. Only ask because 1 particular ump seemed very chummy with your guys even hanging with you during the breaks & then going home with a couple of your guys after the game. He took great delight (smiling) with some dubious decisions he gave u guys when the game was in the balance in the final few minutes. You're right though great game of football, real arm wrestle all day well played.

That is the funniest thing I've seen on here for a while.
Umpire going home with a couple of our players.... c'mon mate

Guess it depends on how many we're correct decisions and how many other legitimate frees were missed. You would think that generally both sides would infringe the laws of the game about the same as each other.

The decisions that peeve me being a supporter at this level are the ones where the ump is influenced by a vocal home crowd or where they just aren't diligent enough to apply a consistent call to the same infringement. Monitoring the basics of the game like setting a mark properly or ensuring they are familiar with the more complex rules like closer than 5 meters to a player taking a kick from a mark or free seems to be an ongoing issue in my view. I've seen some exceptional young umpires in metro west juniors over the last 4 years so hopefully they stay with it and join the amateur footy ranks in future years.

Why should frees be an even account? cant one team give away more frees than the other team?

Not sure anyone said they should be even but the count should not be influenced by the venue, history or popular opinion from the crowd which is often the case in my experience.

Having done both a and b grade footy at this level myself it can be intimidating but you just have to put yourself in a position to see what's happening and then be consistent.

On Saturday I saw a particular free paid for the first time I can recall and it was directly after a number of people on and off the ground shouting out about it. Results in an easy goal late in a tight contest and just leaves you wondering. Thing was it occurred probably 8-10 other times during the game but was not paid.

Is it true Novosel was injured on the weekend? That's a massive blow for Lakes given he has been in fine touch! Will test the depth of the side in a few weeks with some key players missing..

Hobbs to be saviour and be gun full forward! 8)

CLG are a very, very, very impressive Division 6 side. Would go as far as saying their first quarter was about as slick and red hot as I have ever played against in the ammos at this level. 12 goals to 1 before we could blink. 20 goals to 2 at half time. Laser like accuracy as well, I think it was 20-3...

Quite proud of the effort the MPFC lads put in to drag some sort of semblance of respect to the scoreline. The second half was pretty much even on the scoreboard but felt CLG were still dominant. Lots of work to do at the Green, Red and White den.

Highlight of the day from my perspective was copping some pretty lame payouts from the CLG bench whilst waiting to go on about posting on here. Yes Mr Big Shot Runner, I can type. Maybe contribute non-anonymously before ribbing those that do.

Then zedman's voice breaking like a pre-pubescent teenager when he was yelling something.  sorry mate, that was pretty funny, and I was a tad disappointed you guys didn't see the funny side after what should have been an enjoyable day for you.

i think i got a fly caught in my throat morell.. 8)

at least my runner was allowed on the ground unlike his original counterpart in yellow!

and he did bite his tongue all day but he couldnt resist as you strolled into the arena again late in the game to get your only touch for the day!..which was a great goal from 1m out and then the obligatory "bird" was given to our bench..thats grass roots footy right there! :D

on a serious note though..mayzey was excellent and high quality, harrison is an accumulator of the football and brings a lot of players into the game..#6 who i assume was francis but was originally listed as bonney, looked to be a quality player and spacie was good in patches..big fella in ruck worked real hard..#22 needs to work on playing football and forget the tough man BS..credit to you guys for running the game out as it could have gotten uglier in the second half..your B grade were very good and your C grade were excellent so your club is doing a lot of things right and should be proud of the great turnaround from the end of 2010..you will take a few more scalps in the A grade this season i have no doubt..

6-0 dont think they need to worry about anyone or give anyone respect its up to the other sides to bring them back to earth
