I generally speak to people involved in footy there and they tell me they tell the SANFL that they will use it but then just ignore it.

Hamley Bridge and the APFL would appear to be a prime example of this

What do you mean? It is in use for the APFL and it does get followed, I've seen the team sheets first hand and have calculated the points.
Hamley are allocated more points than other clubs because of their ladder positions over the past few seasons, it's all relative and above board.
Another thing to consider out there is the population difference between some of the clubs, at the end of the day the point allocation is determined by recent performances.

Yes, because they have a sliding scale used in the league..... finish bottom in multiple years and allocated more. Move up the table and get less.

Did the league get approval from the SACFL to give them more than 15 points?
I don't know the answer to the question - just asking it.

No they don't. Pretty sure they have the maximum out of any club in the APFL though. They have 15.

My understanding is the points allocated for this season is:

Balaklava: 9.
Hamley: 15.
Hummocks: 10.
Mallala: 8.
Two Wells: 12.
United: 12.
Virginia: 9.

Pretty sure Hamley have applied and can use up to 18 points. They also applied to the CFL for this last year as well.

Lightning we can use up to 14 mate, although with everyone playing we will only use maximum of 10 unless somebody just lobs up.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!
