South will bounce back from this but need to do it quickly. The Eagles were just as terrible in Round 2 against West as South were yesterday.

Been thinking this for a while now, not meaning to take a cheap shot or anything.

I do think you have a very valid point here therisingblues.

I know most of the South team live in suburbs like Henley Beach, Glenelg, Norwood and some parts of North Adelaide. Some also live as far as Tea Tree Gully. I really am not sure how many live locally in the Noarlunga area. Maybe a few B grade players.

Imagine working and having to travel to training 5 or 6 times a week then driving back to your home in Tea Tree Gully or something similar. I know they should not complain but these days kids in the Y Generation want it to be all about them. I know Centrals have a similar issue but somehow they got around this......I dont know if South can to be honest.

What places are out there for players to go to for a drink or be social down South. I think they would rather be drinking down the Bay, The Norwood, The Ramsgate or as therisingblues said "The trendy areas" of Adelaide or CBD. There is no way a player would be seen at pubs or clubs down South....,...no disrespect but there is really nothing down South or if there is it is really not the trendy places of the suburbs and CBD.

I reckon most of them after a game could not wait to get out of the South after presso's. Really sad times.

Sad thing is after this year we will lose more players to rival clubs for $$$$$ and even some that are here will be counting down the games to get back home interstate.

I am f%%%d really to know what to do........(been thinking about this all day!) :(
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

I don't support the idea of South getting rid of Ron Fuller and I think its the worst thing the club could do at the moment, irrespective of what people think on here of his ability.

I also don't subscribe to the "lost the players theory", the same mantra got John Reid, Ken Sheldon and Ken Applegarth sacked from the club and where did it get the club? Probably a lot longer at the bottom of the ladder than if they had of just drunk up a cup of cement and backed the Senior Coach.

Ron was given a five year contract at South for good reason, our lack of stability of Senior Coaches is a big part of the problem at South. Also I very much doubt that the likes of Nathan Bassett or Andy Collins would be able to do a great deal different with the same players that Ron had available to him on the weekend. Ron Fuller is still very much a Premiership Coach and is what South need whether people like to admit it or not.

Its my opinion that there are some serious problems at South, the same problems that Kevin Morris took to the board of the SAFC when he did a full review of the club when Robert Pyman was coaching. The club is working to address these issues, yet I agree that its not going well at the present moment, my point being that none of that will change if they simply take the soft option and sack the senior coach yet again.

As for the South Adelaide supporters that abused the team and the coaching staff as they left the ground, go f*&k yourself is my advice. Whiteants like yourselves are another reason our club continues to flounder, if you can handle it in the tough times, go support someone else.

Record win vs South beating previous win in 2007 of approx. 104 pts.
The last other recent eagles win by over 100pts I can remember is vs Sturt @ Unley in 2006 by 130pts. Mark Passador kicked 10 that day.
It was also a premiership year!!

I reckon we beat Glenelg by over 100 in 2011. The next time we played them after they sang the song on the oval after beating us at the bay.

They have money in the bank which means unlike many clubs they will survive.

They might win some games and play finals if the comp gets smaller because other clubs fall over financially! They should make the 5 in a 5 team comp although on present form I will back the bye!

  love it

Perhaps we should jump into bed with the Bays and see how that goes.....quitters

Very valid points by Southee. I wouldn't be blaming Ron and actually feel sorry for him. I've lived down South since 1992, played footy down here, drank down here, gone to pubs down here, worked down here, played cricket and basketball down here and had kids grow up at schools down here and I can honestly tell you I don't know one person down here that gives a stuff about South, its all SFL or AFL. My mates used to think I was weird for still following the SANFL so passionately. I'm not sinking the boot in nor do I have any answers. Central took almost 40 years to be embraced by their community, maybe it will be the same with South?

Centrals were embraced by the local community in the 70's.

BUT Centrals consistently made the finals..................lost them all until the 90's, but still made them. We have only won 2 wooden spoons & the first was Our first year, so We have consistently been around the mark. Wedgie, you say they seem to have an image problem down South, is this correct?
