It was always going to end in tears when South keep losing their better players because of the coaches' lack of man management skills.
People on here buying into Centre Circle Legend's party line dribble in the past can now be set straight

WE wouldn't have enough money for any of the AFL players to return, so they could continue to live the life style they were accustomed to. (Kim Koster an exception)

They could be worse off under Bamford? He managed to fall out with a number of players and coaches and did exactly what at the Magpies in terms of showing he could coach?

If so, South would need to 'pay him out' of his contract & then appoint another coach.
Is this his 3rd or 4th year?
To sack him would cost them a bit - not only financially.
Who would want the job apart from a 'local' home grown 'Southee'?
In terms of players (from a purely local point of view, as I live down here) - I think one of the problems is there are so many other clubs down here to play footy for.
Young blokes with talent, get paid pretty well playing in the SFL or GSFL - without the huge training & non-social commitment that an SANFL Club expects.
As a result, many good quality footballers, in their zone, are not playing for South in U/18s & Reserves & preferring an 'easy buck' & less time/training commitments with local SFL & GSFL Clubs.
Any comments?

CENTURION wrote:why not try something radical & stick with him? A vote of long term confidence might bring solidarity & more committment from the players, in turn inspiring them to step up a notch. South isn't an easy fix & if they keep going the way they have been, no-one will feel safe &, in turn, won't be able to perform their duties to the best of their abilities. If there are players there that the board think are worth playing league, sign them all up for long contracts, at least 3 years & accept that South is broken & will only be fixed this way. They've tried everything else & it ain't working, so what do they have to lose? No point in walking into a nice plush clubrooms with no trophies & nothing to show for all the money. People would rather be broke but happy. We did it at Centrals, you can do it too.

RB wrote:Good to have a percentage booster to compensate for the loss to West. Bit of a cliché, but it is hard to take much out of a training run like yesterday. Good however to see a couple of guys like Scotty Lewis get played back into form. I tell you what, if Byron Sumner doesn't get a guernsey for the state team there's something wrong. He has been killing it. The best avoider (evader?) of tackles in the league IMO.

They have money in the bank which means unlike many clubs they will survive.

They might win some games and play finals if the comp gets smaller because other clubs fall over financially! They should make the 5 in a 5 team comp although on present form I will back the bye!
