Defensive, not ultra-defensive - Being a West fan should know the difference

Arent West are the highest scoring team so far this season

Has every team had a bye yet?

No - everyone gets a week off this week though! ;)

I always do my stats rankings per game to avoid issues with the bye.

West were the highest scoring team (per game) for Rounds 2,3 & 4
but North passed them last week

norwood are not playing well @ the moment weather this is a prmiership hangover or not we will have to wait and see untill the end of the year. Our last 3 weeks have been average and skills have been poor, people keep talking about our defensive game style (funny when it comes from a supporter of the team that did not have a player forward of the centre for the first 3 1/4's of last years GF) but if you look @ scoring shots i will put it this way

..... . g b shots
nwd 7 12 19 vs eags 14 6 20
nwd 9 13 22 vs west 6 5 11
nwd 9 14 23 vs north 14 5 19

----- 25 39-------------- 34 16
--- 64 shots ----------- - 50

Our poor skills are killing us on the score board as well as around the ground, we have a lot of improving to do otherwise it will be a north north west grand final. Even though we are not playing well no one has been able to bury us even though we are not playing well. The Eagles sought of did but if we had kicked a bit staighter we would have only lost by 2 or 3 goals. The point i am trying to make is we are not playing well but we are still having more shots than our opponent bar the eagles game it was one less shot.

Plus Norwood only kicked 9 goals against the bottom side. Lack of goal scoring is a very worrying sign, I would imagine.

Was pissed not being able to get to the game but work held me up then had to stop at Richmond to sign up as a member
Saw the last bit on TV and North looked too quick with mind and leg. Francou is developing into a good coach and his style is working even after heavy player losses.
Norwood seen unmotivated and don't move the ball quickly enough into the forward lines.
Norwood need to be up and firing in September/October so we have plenty of time to get some players back and settle our team.
Losing to North at Prospect is not an uncommon result for any team and I rate North a lot better team than West especially away from Richmond.
Looking forward to getting Campbell and Aish back in particular and Newton to give us some danger factor up forward.

Can only echo what Jim and JK have said earlier, North dominated and really should have won by more. Norwood are currently playing like a team of millionaires who just need to turn up to win.

The loss of players like Cachia, Batsanis and Gallagher without adequate replacements is really starting to hurt as we simply don't have enough players who can kick the ball in any meaningful sense. Smart, Murphy and Kirwan give generally wholehearted efforts but when they're coming down the field with the ball you hope rather than expect it'll finish up with one of our blokes. Geez Crane would have been handy...

Well played to the Roosters.

Playing the small forward role, and did it well. Coaching staff would be very happy to see him get some footy. Couple of goals, applied plenty of pressure. Gave away a few free kicks, but only because he was over zealous and I don't have a problem with that.

dunno about goal of the year, it's ok but checkside goals are much harder to kick. We will see better than this during the year, on the other hand, the mark was a ripper!

Well done cocks you played some good footy. I thought when Johnston went off with his sore vag we were in but not to be. Bassett doesn't need to promote the Norwood Football Club we've been around for 135 years , what he might need is a plan B. We need a injection of speed so Hughes and Wilson have to come in. We're treading water until we get Aish, Campbell and Juice back. We are also missing the great one, he's probably on a beach somewhere working on his tan or is locked up in Rob's rape dungeon only time will answer that one. I like what Francou's done at Norf , my hat come's off. The banner rock's, well done boys keep fighting the good fight.
I also want to wish Warren (a dude we stand with) all the best, hope your feeling o.k.
