Disappointed a bit by Brighton yesterday, from what I've seen, not nearly as professional as a Morphett Vale, Happy Valley, or Reynella.
I stood by their supporters for a good portion of the match, didn't stop whinging at all. Every free lonsdale got, they whinged, abused umpires etc from sidelines.
At this stage, they were up by about approx 12 goals, and still crying when free kicks that could go wither way went to Lonsdale.
I say, you're up by 12 goals or so, stop whinging, and get on with the game.

i agree there kaiser.

had a similar situation yesterday, playing b-grade, we were down by bout 15 goals, when a player of ours kicked a "controversal" goal. i didnt see it myself, but players from the opposition team whinged and carried on like they just lost the grand final by 1 point. it was B GRADE, and they were up by 15 GOALS.

get over it and think about what effect it was going to have on the outcome of the game. ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT AT ALL!

Having a look at the score in the paper and over the first 6 rounds, can anyone see the S.F.L. surviving the way ther are? It is easy to see that the league needs to be divided into 2 division, but even doing this will still create very lopsided competition. Say the league can attracked another 4 teams into the comp even 2 (that would be hard enough), that would create 2 divisions of 8 teams, the top 3 teams in each division would still go out and destroy the other teams each week, the more i look at it the worse it gets for the S.F.L. The likley hood of hackham surviving, the talk of a few teams looking at changing leagues, this just isn't looking good. I know the league is proud of the amount of junior teams that are playing at the moment but even that is a bit of a sham, how can the let the power house clubs have dual sides when other clubs are struggling to get 1 team up and running. This year M/vale have daul teams in every junior grade, what happens when there kids from there 2 under 18 teams have to go up and play senior football? Both there senior teams are dominating, most of those kids want get a game and will end up sitting out of footy or changing leagues because they won't go and play for another club in the same comp. Why not cap the junior grades at a resonable number (not 50 as is now) and try and spred them out to the other clubs. This will let the kids grow up in that club and hopfully filter through to there senior teams. It is about time the S.F.L. grew some balls and stopped letting the top clubs get what they want and helped out the ones who need it the most, THE LEAGUE IS ONLY AS STORNG AS ITS WEAKEST CLUB. So at this point in time it would be one of the worst going around. Just think what would happen in 2008 if Hackham folded Morphy Parks went to SAAFL, OSB went somewhere else, Aldinga went to great southern, that only leaves 10 teams. Lets see how long other teams would last at the bottom of the ladder before they started to think what are we doing here? Even the top teams would be thinking by then if not now, we want to play in a competition where we can play teams of the same level. I give the S.F.L. maybe 3 years at best before they are swallowed up buy the other leagues. Anyone care to comment :?: :?: :?:

Dunno why they were whinging as we got a raw deal yet again from the umps. I know it sounds like sour grapes but it seems the umps have a mentality that they favour the top clubs. When ever you play a powerhouse (Emus, Cove, Reynella, Brighton, Valley) it seems that the umps pay some ridiculous frees against the lower ranked team. Also playing a traditional div 1 team like Porties, Shoes or Saints the umps seem to want to restore the order and not let a former div 2 club beat these clubs and its not only field but also goal umps that make you laugh at times. I also see the reverse on occasion when when we play a lower ranked team.

Why not just call it how you see it as it seems like blatant cheating at times. Most of the time it has no bearing on the result but it is frustrating seeing your team busting their balls and trying to be competitive only to have the ump pluck a free directly in front of goal and the opposition players and crowd laughing at the decision.

But the biggest problem of all is the the umpires lack of guts when it comes to sending off or reporting dirty players. On a number of occasions this year the umpires have seen punches being thrown and even given frees as a result but no report/ sendoff ??

On a brighter note it was a good win for the Shoes over Flaggies on the weekend which begs the question have Flaggies taken a step backwards or are they struggling with injuries??

Also Marion seemed to have improved greatly. Pushed Brighton to a couple of goals last week and were more competitive with the Emus yesterday. They were still beaten convincingly but certainly got closer than expected.

Cove kicked a massive score, where to now for the Hawks??

Having played the hawks yesterday i can say to their credit that they did battle their arses off all day they continued to try until the last seconds but they just didnt have the ability to keep up. They had 6 under 16s players playing which is very rough but they were hard at and look to have a future.

Should had been a record score yesterday tho some bad kicking and abit of a bad second and a terrible finish cost us first quarter kicked 14 goals and third smashed out a massive 19 goals. This should never happen in any grade but they never did throw the flag in at any stage Noarlunga sure as hell did the week before the former captain even admitted it

Yeah mate it was in the 18s a flaggy lad kneed one of the shoeboys in the head like bruce lee then got cleaned up himself players came from every where and it was on. Some wanker from the crowd ran out and went after a lad from flaggies he isnt involved with the shoes and was there to watch a mate play. The commitie was disgusted and this idiot wont be at any more games. It could have got ugly because of this knob and people like him should not be at footy games.

I see....so its the professionalism of the supporters that determines the success of the team on the field....interesting concept..

I played in the game on the weekend...and I can tell you it is hard with so many young guys to remain focused on the team game when you win by so much...looking forward to some real competition...Lonsdale have not improved at all....stagnant team - stagnant club..

I have to agree with wheels and deals here. The easy option is to kick out Aldinga, morphies and the hawks but then your next tier of teams lose upto 6 games a year because there gone and become the new wipping boys of the SFL. How long B4 people calling for them to leave then??

The gap is a joke not an argument here and something has to be done. Maybe attracting mitchell park back, plympton and a kangarilla and having a section 1 and 2 is the go? with promotion and relegation adding intrest to bottom and top of the table.

But if no change is made next year its to late and i think morphies, aldinga and the hawks should move elsewhere. they will not survive getting smashed another year.

Not as professional? cannot agree with that. Wont bitch and complain let results do the talking. Supporters complain in every team if you think its just brighton you dont get out enough. What control does the playing group have on supporters??? NOTHING!
