Interesting to note that Petrenko has been listed as an emergency so may play for the Eagles

Seems like a pretty strong South side. This will be a very tough game for the Eagles and I am actually going to back South by 4 goals.

I don't think the Eagles team has been announced but I agree with some other comments that it is pretty likely Mitchell will be in with the Power this week - they wouldn't have elevated him so quickly otherwise. He may not play this week but is likely to go as a travelling emergency. He will be a huge loss. South have a lot of very quick players and with the loss of Mitchell and (likely) loss of Karpany, we will need to elevate two midfielders who will most likely be Poole and Schwarz for his first game. We will be back to our super slow side and this will cost us. IF Petrenko gets dropped this week it will partially offset the loss. While he is a complete hack at AFL level, he is very good at SANFL level.

For South supporters, how have you seen Dowdell's form in the SANFL this year? I have only seen his stats in the paper and they don't look too bad. Will he be a big loss this week or not?

No big loss at all. ATM think Bass has more to offer as Dowdell is a massive unit but really needs to do more around ground and brush up on some skills. Saw him drop a few chest marks last weekend and I am sure Ron noticed hence the rest in the 2's this week.

I thought he had a poor game last Friday night. Of the three big ruckmen on display, Brooksby, Craig and Dowdell, I thought that Dowdell was easily the least impressive. His effort in the last few minutes of the game where he dropped a sitter and then fumbled and bumbled until James Craig lumbered over and caught him holding the ball was the effort either of a player whose confidence was shot, or someone who can't play. I would prefer to think that it is a confidence thing. To make matters worse for him being dragged immediately afterwards wouldn't have done much for his state of mind.

We can pencil him in for the remainder of the season barring further Crows injuries

You understand wrongly.

Although it annoys me that we've lost Parry, Boyd, Warren, Ainger and his little mate, we should be looking at the reasons why. Instead of constantly saying these blokes are going because of money, how about we start to get them to stay? No good making $100K plus profits if we consistantly end up out of the finals.

They will play for the jumper.... if the team has a chance of winning something

Correct James and we as fans support the Team / Club we chose or our dads followed etc.!! End of the day fans, supporters, members are only happy if their side wins .
It doesn't matter who wears the jumper as long as the team you support wins !!
Win enough you make the finals .Win enough finals you win the flag .
Which makes everyone who plays or follows that team happy !!!
