Goal of the Year & Mark of the year

Postby SANFLnut » Wed May 01, 2013 2:55 pm

Would love to see some nominations for best goal and mark you've seen so far this year. Those with access to footage could post on here too. Maybe an end of season poll for a winner in each category?

Please add your nominations from early rounds.

Not sure it would take out MOTY, but (this is difficult to type lol) some West bloke took a fair grab near the Southern Goalsquare last round.

Brad Kirk. Won't win MOTY but it was a great mark. Watch out over the next few years, he's going to be a good player. Will take Fergy's spot.

Good grab by a North player against West in front of the old scoreboard, bit of a hanger (Miles I think)

If Daniel Webb hangs onto one he would win it. He has a huge leap

Agree with both comments.

On Miles, he is one of the most improved footballers I have ever seen.

He is such a good mark now and rarely makes a mistake.

His mark against Central in round two was an absolute beauty and led to a goal. It was part of North's 6 goals in 12 minutes which blew the game apart. That 12 minutes was the difference in that game given that North's final margin was 41 points. Bit similar to North against South last Friday where the margin was 38 points but North had two bursts where they kicked four goals in five minutes twice, late in the third quarter and late in the last quarter.

The lead up was great and if he could have played on and snapped it then it was right up there for the GOTY!

Two best goals I have seen this year.

West - Tom Keough's bannana kick snap from a standing start in the grandstand pocket at Noarlungs opening quarter v South.

North - Nathan Gordon's steal and long bomb effort to seal the deal v Sturt at Prospect in the final quarter.

Ben Macreadie 24 min into 1st term. No one else will get close. One of the best goals I've ever seen.

Happened right in front of the Snouts.

I reckon every single one of 'em clapped it, too. Superb mark.
