Former player in the Hills league back in the day when the scores were chalked up on cave walls
Alas like my playing days my clubs have joined the Hills cemetery league so have no alignment to any one but great to see Milang back up and running in the C grade.
Found this forum a while ago and have read thro most of the War and Peace that is the Central and Country threads, great to hear people's thoughts on the league to flesh it out with more than just results.
Will post some tongue in cheek replies now and again but being serious now have a few questions.
Have the league or clubs ever considered a third division like the Riverland Independent where they field a seniors and colts teams, so make it like a "locals league" and cap the number of players that have played above a certain standard so keep the paid players to a minimum and help clubs struggling for numbers?
Back in my day they only had Senior Colts u/16 later I noticed u/17 and Junior Colts u/13. What lead to the Mini colts being brought in? Could the country div go back to that? If in doing so would it make it easier for all clubs to field colts?
With Bridgewater merging with Callington/United Eagles does that mean if the locals wanted to in the future to reform the club they couldn't because Bridgewater would have control of the oval?
