I think Grocke was listed in the budget as having a fitness test this week, so though he obviously failed it if he had one he can't be too far away.

Also, I see Tom Schwarz (son of Peter) was named best in Reserves after being in best players previous two weeks also. Could he be a chance? Kane seems lucky to be getting a game.

Think Kane may drop out

Next week would like to see Fitzgerald in for Dawson and Poole in for Karpany.
Salter gradually getting there but lack of match fitness is a problem.
Need to fix our very poor execution of kicking off after a point.
Could Raymond's flair be used further up field?

But Mitchell is so fast compared to Vince give him another week Ferret !!
And I' d drop Kane
Exiting the backline is and has been a major problem !!

I'd definitely like to see Fitzgerald in. From what I've seen of Dawson he doesn't really offer anything.

Pity about Karpany's injury. Poole appears to be a completely different type of player (he doesn't have the speed or agility of Karpany) but I would like to see more of him to make my mind up. One thing is certain it would be a disaster if they decide to bring back Lane. He has been tried numerous times and has failed. He has no improvement left and is destined to be one of those players who performs well at reserves level but cannot step up to league. Hence we cannot bring him back ever regardless of his form.

I've always thought Raymond could be handy up the field (we brought him over as a HFF if i remember correctly) but not sure who'd replace him down back.

I think Mitchell is still 2-3 weeks away from adjusting. His first two weeks have been pretty average. Surely there isn't such a jump in difficulty between WAFL and SANFL??

I also think we'll see Petrenko very shortly, if not this week. People are finally realising he is not up to AFL standard and when he is dropped, I think we'll have him for most of the remainder of the season barring any AFL injuries.

Vince doesn't need to be fast, because he has better skills than Mitchell .. Not knocking Mitchell because he's a fair player, they're just different and Vince is better

Just bear in mind with Kane Mitchell its taking that extra time to adjust because its not like he has had the chance to have a full pre season with the Eagles, he only met them the night before his debut at the Parade, so he will still be learning names and game plan etc..

His work ethic is there, adds speed and skill, once he starts to gel with the lads he will be a major asset. Having spoken to a couple of the lads they have been super impressed with his attitude and they are excited to have him in the side..

Its good to see that the 'second' tier players have stepped up this season, and have had a bearing on the fact we are 3-1 as opposed to 0-4 at the same stage last year.. Chris Hall has been consistent and seems to be enjoying his added time through the midfield. Goldsworthy has stepped up to a top tier player within the side, and thoroughly deserves his state squad selection. Easily one of the most consistent performers at the club, if not the league.. Personally I think we will see a fair bit of Redden this season, and its good to see him show some versatility and hav an impact up forward while resting yesterday..

Overall, things are looking well at Oval ave, far better than this time last year, and I think 3rd spot should be a realistic aim, although North will have a fair bit to say about that one..

I am tired of these Vince v Mitchell comparisons. Not sure why people are bothering to decifer if an All-Australian/Club Champion is better than a depth player. Get a grib lads.

That was years ago, SANFL is his level now. If the Crows have a full squad to choose from Vince wouldnt make their best 22

And what has Mitchell done to show you he is better? Been a sub for 3 games and had 15 touches in the SANFL? seriously.

On current form I believe he is.
Vince definately has been good over the years but I think he is on the way down.
Guess we wont know with Mitchell until he is givèn a chance

112 games compared to 3 (a total of 4 qtrs), if vince didn't have better skills then the crows would have some problems.

Knowing how driven Godden is, he's done really well after two games to throw away the gameplan and go in another direction.
I'm not sure if it was his call or a match committee one, but it's been long overdue with both Grocke and Staple way off in their production.
We are still well short in the midfield if we lose the run and spread of Jarrad and Sumner, but Mitchell is more than handy while he's available.
Goldsworthy is a very important part of the side as he also provides swift ball movement that Powell and Rowntree cannot!

Groeke is still a very much neccessity for our set-up and structure, and crucial come finals time to have a few tall forwards. He should benefot from now getting the 2nd best defender with Ainger attracting the main attention.

Staple still didnt do enough in the reserves to tell me he deserves another shot, Fitzgerald would be next in-line for me.
