What the hell happened at the Glenunga V Para Hills B grade game?

Glenungas first win of the year and it was by 180 points

No goals for Josh "Keith" Blyth this week? Was he playing up back or well held?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

We had 8 people pull out before the game which means we had 7 C graders play two games. 3 Injuries in the first 10 minutes and finishing with 15ish players.

However not using these as an excuse, Rams were too good and their full forward (Mark K) seemed to have his own ball

The best side won at Largs North Reserve today, when the game was there to win Luthies wanted it more. The game was played in good spirits in some horrbile conditions (wind).

What is the story with them having no supporters whatsoever, do they just not like coming down our way?

Really disappointing result for us yesterday, beaten by a team who wanted it more in the end. We had a huge breeze blowing towards the Southern end which Lutheran used alot better than we did, their delivery to their forward line put us as a back six under massive pressure. I thought we were lucky to only go down by 15 points as they wasted opportunties in front of goals, their first six scoring shots in the third quarter were behinds so they did keep us in it but in the last they defended well, got plenty of numbers behind the footy to cloged up space in our forward line and managed to hold on for the win, full credit to them.

Pretty sure that's our A grades seventh loss in a row to AL since 2009 when we beat them at home.

We played well in patches, moved the ball really well at times and one thing that I guess was a positive for me was tightning up around contests, ball ups/throw ins against AL. We did that better than on previous occasions against them where they absolute smashed us. Yesterdays loss came down to a work rate issue, we need to play four quarters of consistant footy.

Onto to West Croydon this Saturday at home, really looking forward to the challenge, can't wait. Need to get win number three.

Well done to HH3 and the B grade, 8 goal win, 4 and 0 top of the ladder. Can't ask for much more.

It was good to see about 15-20 Lutheran boys stick around in the clubrooms for a beer after the game.

Just wanted to say that West Croydon put on a fantastic ANZAC Day commemoration between the A and B grade games yesterday. The way they involved some of their respected war veterans, both teams and the umpires was outstanding. Even though it wasn't ANZAC day, the fact that they went to the effort to acknowledge such an important occasion is to be commended.

We do what we can mate :D

We were under the pump in the backlines copping with that wind in the first quater, but after that we pulled away. In the 2nd and 4th quarters, all we had to do was get it forward and then make the wall about halfway. I dont think they got more than 2 or 3 inside 50's in those quarters.

That wind was terrible yesterday.

Having said that, we kicked 5 goals against the wind, and Luthies kicked none.

Making a stronger link with the school was definitely a priority of mine when I took over last year. On the weekend we had 16 players in our A's and B's who either finished Year 12 last year or are currently at school. The hard part is keeping the decent ones away from the cashed up BLG clubs but hopefully we can get the majority of them to hang around for years to come.
