A game of 4 quarters if ever I saw one

A fairly stiff northerly at the start of the match. Glenelg lost the toss and consigned to the northern end, meaning they'd be coming home to Snout's Hill end with the breeze - oh yeah

Excellent first quarter. Handballs generally finding their targets, Bays running game tearing Sturt apart, kicked the first 2 goals of the game in 5 minutes, led 4.3 to 2.2 at the break.

Dire second quarter. Forwards went to water. Dobbed several shots out on the full. Misused the breeze terribly. Sturt had a crack and worked their way back into the game. Bays up 7.7 to 7.4 at the half.

Third quarter started average, Glenelg restricting Sturt before eventually cracking the Blues in the second half of the quarter. Went into lemons up 13.10 to 8.10.

The breeze had dropped off in the last term - and so did the Tigers. Sturt kicking the first 3 goals of the term. Eventually Glenelg regained the ascendancy and ended up winning 17.11 to 12.13, but lost the quarter thanks to a late goal to Crane.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry: Glenelg's good looked good, but its worst looked comical. McKernan's 5 goals is the definite highlight; welcome to the GFC fella. 8) Good to see Sturt keep the intensity on after half time for a change.

And a personal thanks to zipzap for the ride home afterwards.

Shaun "The Statue" McKernan absolutely dominated all over the ground, perhaps after hearing that Tex was injured.

How in hell did Ronny let this man mountain leave South? Why isnt he already playing for the Crows?

Some serious questions need to be asked why is "The Statue" left to dominate the SANFL

In the final quarter Button marked and goal in a very Statuesque way

Look out the Statue has awaken, You all have been warned!!!!!!

Apparently, despite the amount of cards he was given, McKernan just couldn't make it at Bingo down South

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
