Knowing him, he is just looking forward to playing in a successful team this year and pushing for another premiership, whether that is A's or B's.

On the game yesterday. Great atmosphere at Flinders Park. Theycan put on a good show and it was a good day in all. Th a grade game was very competitive with our boys jumping out of the blocks early. Flinders to their credit came out fighting in the 2nd. The 3rd was pretty even but in the end we were a little more prepared to get in and under to get the footy. Flinders spread very well and Dodman up forward was a big target and for the first time since we have played against eachother. i got to see the impact that he can have on a game. One of the better contested marks ive seen. You cant do much more to stop him when he can just stand their and clunk the thing. Very good technique at kicking for goal too. If Flinders had another target up forward they would be rather difficult to stop.
In the 2's it was more dissapointing for me. My lads were missing in the last when we really needed to carry on from where we finished in the 3rd. We are a lot different to what we were last year but that can only take you so far. We really missed a large target up forward and our decision making was not up to standard. I thought Dyda was taken out of the game and had little impact, Pye was pretty good but March and Arthur made sure we walked off with a new one. Arthur was very good across half forward. We managed to restrict them to kicking goals from the 40-45. Not much was scored inside that. We have a bit of work to do but, i will say it has been a steep learning curve and initiation coming up to coach Div 2 reserves.
My thoughts on the remaining games:
Gepps Cross should take care of Kilburn. We have been in the same position as Kilburn where we were getting done by plenty but our A grade were going well. Hopefully they can put up a contest and get one on the board.
Prince alfred & Modbury; This will be a close game. PA have good run btu i havent seen Modbury play before so im just going by what ive seen. PA to get up for me.
Walk & SHOC: This is game of the round for me. With all the capable A grade players in Walkie's side. I think they will ebe far too strong for SHOC. Although i havent seen SHOC play beofre i still think the cats will get up and continue to place one hand on the cup.

HAHAHA no head count this year, but a very good game of footy, Dodman has improved out of sight and was just to big for us to control, Martinello was also very good for them and another one who keeps improving, Fuller looked extremly dangerous up forward early but went down with a hammy not long after that leaving Flinders maybe 1 target short. Robby Wilson very well deserved ANZAC Day Medalist

Kilburn d Gepps Cross by a point.

Disappointed to lose considering Kilburn were awarded a goal despite the ball clearly going the wrong side of the post by at least a foot on the half time siren. Even the Kilburn supporters said the same. Having said that we kicked 17 points so probably didn't deserve to win.

Anyway some promising signs for the rams with a few guys to come back over the next few weeks.

Well done Kilburn. It was a great game of amateur league footy.

GX had some great mids. Stengel is an in and under machine and Hand and Wittwer were classy.

To be honest we had an ordinary day and were lucky to pull out a win. Gepps had the majority of possession and our back six were under the pump most of the day.

Great effort by Molyneux, Bracko and Clutts to come back and make massive contributions after going off injured. Cluttsy got knocked the **** out!

He took two of the best marks you'll see in the last minute to thwart our attacks. If he was the same guy knocked out in the first qtr, I didn't like the way the trainer picked him up, could have been very dangerous.

It was the same guy. Great effort to do that after being KOd pretty badly.

What was Hand doing out there? I thought he had done an ACL.

Huge game between Gepps Cross and Walkerville this weekend. After coming down from Div 1 and a few handy recruits Gepps were touted as the ones to challenge Walkerville for the flag. However after 3 losses the pressure is on Gepps and they will find it mighty hard to come back from a 0-4 start in a very even division 2. Also another interesting game between Portland and Kilburn with winner looking to push towards a top 3 finish.

Would be a decade since we last played Gepps in an A grade match. Should be a cracker day down at Duncan Fraser Reserve
