Was surprisingly subdued after such a big win.

That was a big win Stewie, Last years premiers over the spooners.
Huge pick up to have Harvey back at Angaston for the year and O'$brian has fitted in well.

At the Den?
Played at Freeling.
Yes Schubert was very good, had leather poisoning by the end he had that much of the ball.
Freeling didnt go away and had a crack all day, some good signs for sure

Would want to be VERY quiet about it.......

Sorry Dogwatcher - haven't been on for a few days. Nuri had lost Dean Vickery, Billy Nicholls and Judd Smith, but hadn't replaced them with enough quality I thought. I didn't think they should be VOCALLY confident, that's for sure. It's easy to say now, but the result against Kapunda bears out my opinion.

p.s. Has there been a bigger round 1 upset in the BL&G in recent years than the Panthers' smashing of Barossa District? They didn't just beat Barossa, they gave it a fair belting. I certainly can't recall a result any bigger than this one for a first round!

Are their questions being asked at Tanunda yet? concerns always surrounded the true impact and loss of Wells. Now their runners are forced to read the opposing rucks. Agars is rumoured to have has been in a good paddock and has some work ahead i believe.
Angaston appeared to have cleaned out their recruits. By all reports Jackson O'Biren goes very well and a handy bigman in Griffiths probably gives mids first use. Will Angaston FIFO Kingsley and Harvey from interstate?
Kapunda have again snuck under the radar and questions will be asked of Nuri if they dont respond to Saturdays belting.
South probably not as potent as last year.
Anyway seems to be a cracker year of BL&G footy.

Cheers for the response on the previous post. You may well be right.

And...what a massive result for Ango. I watched their trial against Lox North and thought they might still struggle this season. However, you can't take a bigger scalp than the reigning premier if you wish to show you're back in town.

Good to see Harry's continuing to star on the field for Freeling, as well.

Looks like it will be a great year, good to see Ango up and about.
Saw Nuri on the weekend and they are not much chop, long year ahead.
Heard that Freeling put up a good display on the weekend and the margin was about the 3-4 goal mark for most of the day, believe South had 5 or 6 A graders missing but I still think they may slide a little this year.
This week we get to find out if all the hype at the Dog track is warranted, look to have about a dozen new faces out there

On the weekend the Panthers showed that 2 good quality imports, and strong returning locals can make the world of difference. Their ruckman, Michael Griffiths will probably be one of the best players in the Assocation this year - a good ruckman at a club is worth gold! Just on that, best ruckmen from each club...?

Ango - Griffiths
Barossa - Christie
Centrals - Howard
Freeling - Kemp
Kapunda - MacKenzie
Nuriootpa - Cragg-Sapsford
Tanunda - ??
South - ??
Willaston - Jones

Looking a little barer RE: big men than in recent history!!!

Nuri v Angaston. Angaston by 30 with Jack O'Brien collecting the medal.
Barossa v Freeling. Barossa to bounce back and account for Freeling by 30-40.
South v Gawler Central. South by <10. We'll see just how much these two have shifted since last year. Dan Goulding for the medal.
Tanunda v Kapunda. Kapunda by 20-30.

Could be good news on a ruckman for the maggies soon with a ex AFL listed player being courted.
Speaking of ruckman that Jim Jones from Willaston is a monster of a bloke and played really well on Saturday.
Young maggie team did well in a good game by both teams.
Life after Wells could be worse than I first anticipated.
Great round of photo and can't remember when the grand finalists from the previous year lost in the first round.
Hear Mighty Mike Teakle is already declaring Angaston as premiers in 2013.
This weeks winners

Nuri to bounce back as they are a better team than they showed against Kapunda.Lose to Ango and knives will be out for Salter already-Nuri by 12 points
South V Centrals will be a good game and I eagerly await the performance of the new look Tigers.South by 8 points
Freeling v Barossa-Barossa to bounce back and win easily by 10 goals
Kapunda v Tanunda in another close game with the Maggies to get up by 2 goals-hope we have the new ruckman in time as without McKenzie may get Kapunda home and I hate saying that.

Barossa v Free - Barossa to win, but will be closer than expected 15-20 pts
South v Centrals - With all the new players would want to win!
Tanunda v Kapunda - Tanunda in a close one 6-10 pts

Has Gawler Centrals got their man yet. Heard they were pushing hard to get last years leading goal kicker for the state. I had abit of a laugh when i heard that Serle was asked to play B grade for centrals until 3 points were freed up in the A grade.
