Agreed. I think they didn't make a better album than that.

Under rated. Commercially didn't live up to the hype following Blood Sugar but it is brilliant. I'm a fan and still have the t-shirt I was given when I bought it from Virgin in Rundle Mall. Just about anything after this from RHCP is a disappointment. Where did the dirty funk go?

One hot minute sucks.

Blood sugar destroys everything they have ever produced IMHO!!!!

Agreed. Meddle is awesome but it's time some of you listened to Dark Side again with the phones on. I'd have Wish You were here, Animals and The Wall ahead of Meddle.

They went back to making Blood Sugar Sex Magik again and again. I really love the bass solo in Coffee Shop and the imagery of Deep Kick. I like Blood Sugar too but there are more than a few dodgy tracks on that.

No doubt, BSSM is their peak. But OHM is a good album - full of vitality and punch.

One Hot Minute was a lot darker than their previous or subsequent releases, possibly due to Dave Navarro's input. I liked about 40% of Californication, and everything from By The Way until now would barely make filler cuts on their early releases.

Their catalogue in the 21st century is merely RHCP-by-numbers.

Youre crazy man.

Purple is awesome .core and no.4 not far behind all. Tiny music would be my Least fav stp record.

Art school girlfriend rocks though.

Tiny Music... contains most of my favourite STP songs, like Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart, Adhesive, Lady Picture Show, And So I Know, Pop's Love Suicide, Big Bang Baby and Seven Caged Tigers. The album came out when I was 12, and really made me a fully-fledged fan, as opposed to a casual listener.

My favourite STP albums, in order:

Tiny Music...
Purple
No. 4
Core
Shangri-La Dee Da
Stone Temple Pilots
Politicians kissing babies for good luck,
TV preachers sell salvation for a buck.

The Colour And The Shape gets a few votes on here. No doubt there best album, TBH I didn't really like their albums post There Is Nothing Left To Lose, they felt a bit mundane.

Trippin'... is my favourite also, but picking a second favourite from STP depends on my mood. But these songs are always in the mix for that title:

Unglued
Interstate Love Song
Meatplow
Plush
Lady Picture Show
Adhesive
Still Remains

Wonderful (this song will be played at my funeral)
Creep
Heaven & Hot Rods
I Got You

Peacoat (the only song I really like from their self-titled album)
Vasoline
Army Ants
Big Empty
Big Bang Baby

These songs tend to get high rotation on my iTunes...

Pretty much can't split this and Thriller.

So I just combine my favourite tracks off both.

Wall Side
Rock With You
Girlfriend
It's the Falling in Love
Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
Get on the Floor

Thriller Side
Billie Jean
P.Y.T.
Baby Be Mine
Beat It
Thriller

Bonus Paul McCartney Tracks (CD Only)
Say, Say, Say
The Girl Is Mine

Off the Thriller is the greatest album ever made!
