Yep... Bitten my tongue for weeks now but this is where I draw the line. There will be no sudden influx of players to the C Grade. I have instructed the coaching staff that the players who actually came out, trained, and had their collective arses handed to them in div 6 will be given a game as a priority over anyone else. I will not tolerate any speculation of TTG prepping a C grade team for a premiership as it is a blatant untruth. We are damn lucky that the SAAFL let us into a div where we can be competitive and give our Div 1R fringe players an environment where they can regain form as opposed to getting belted by 40 plus goals per week and trying to push for selection... Not really ideal.
As a club, we know how fortunate we have been to be offered an opportunity by the SAAFL to remain in a competitive div for the remainder of the season. We will always play to win no matter what competition we are in, but we will do so with players that deserve to be in the team and that have shown their commitment to their club, not with players who cherry pick and are there to fulfill individual goals.

Thanks Big Daddy - maybe we can all move on now...

I don't know who big daddy is but what else is he going to say.
In other news Salisbury vs TTG this week will be played Friday night at Salisbury oval 7:00. Come out and see first hand who is playing for gullies. All we can do is to try and beat whoever plays for them.

Surely you aren't suggesting that a Div1R player is better off finding form in Div 8 than Div 6 ???? Seems very strange to me.... as does the fact that I stood at least one person on Saturday who amazingly was playing their first game for the year !! Coincidence I know....

I'm suggesting that it's easier for a kid to find form when he isn't in a team chasing jumpers all day and getting flogged by record margins every week. If that trend continued then there would more than likely have been no team for them to be dropped to in a couple of weeks. So yeah, I would rather they play in a competitive div 8 side as opposed to an embarrassing, almost non existent div 6 side.

You got smacked two weeks in a row, one game earlier you played off on a GF. You were offered an easier option and took it, many would I understand that but don't try and claim the regulars will get games first etc. in this comp you can play 4 extra guys than you could two weeks ago and in my opinion if your better players turn up again you are hardly going to show them the door! But if you do, send them out to Harpers we have a whole extra team they could play in.

Moses not surprised you are defending TTG, if it wasn't for them you wouldn't even have a B grade team!!

Sorry Moses that we actually play for a club because we enjoy each others company and are loyal to our club (as most people at most clubs are). We dont just lob out at a club for free clothes and easy money to take a pumping each week like your mob !!
Anyhow, good luck winning a game this year chump.

Surely yo-yoing from Div 1R to Div 8 cant be a good thing ??
Not sure where my sarcasm is Big Daddy. All I know is that one well known bloke at your club who I stood was openly telling me it was his first game out. As I said. Coincidence.
As for the game itself, TTG were too good but we were terrible too so I'd expect a better effort next time. I couldn't give a crap what happened the weeks before, they were just another opponent and we lost. So be it.

TTG aren't suddenly going to have the likes of Mount, Roughton, Vansoest, Noske, Dow, Chambers etc return to their C-Grade this season. They moved on.

They've got some handy players, but won't come anywhere close to the calibre they were at last year.

Who has time to do research? you obviously have so that's good enough for me. Choccies is right, we were not switched on at any stage of the game, TTG were too good, I don't think they should be in Div 8 but they are and that's how it goes, so be it. Next time around we too will have a better more prepared side, us old blokes can go back to the D grade and come out and watch. They will be tough to beat, but so will the likes of PAOC, Modbury and SMOSH, will be a tough comp to win a flag in.

Why didn't Gullies knowing the amount of players leaving the club this season just exercise their right, being a C/D grade team, to not get promoted and stay in Div 7. I'm sure one of the A grade clubs in Div 6 would of went up. Wrong move by the SAAFL imo, and I'm not just saying that cos we have to play them ;)

Flinders Uni must feel ripped off, all those floggings they have had over the years the Amateur league could of put their 2 sides into the C divisions.

The Flinders Uni A+B's are both 2-1 in Div 7. Their C's are 0-3 though.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.
