Give it time, it is only Round 4...

It was a 15 point loss to West, in Round 1, and then the 41 point defeat from North, as otr mentioned...

At the start of the season with the quantity, quality, experience of the "outs" and post season medical operations, I thought we'd struggle this year. A big factor would be who we could recruit. Again we struggled in this area, the positive has been Seb replacing Jack. But one ruck doesnt replace two gone - jack and Pumpa. Our other recruits are young and will take time to develop.
We've still a lot of class players down in form at the moment, which can turn around, and other than north we haven't been smashed. I know this doesn't mean a great deal versus the win loss ratio.
Obviously throughout the season afl players and injuries will play a role.
I note in the gowans book they rate Roy as their best coach ever. I reckon they'd be pretty good judges.
If and still a big if, we can scrape into the five anything can happen. I won't write off this season yet.

P.S I believe we're still a mathematical chance.

Have seen the Dogs against West and the Bays and they are still going OK and will be tough for anyone to beat.

?

We have lost to half the teams in the League already, doesn't seem that tough to me.

You can still be playing well and show enough in losses to see a team isnt far away.

As has already been posted, Norwood started 0-4 and made the GF in Bass' first year

Plenty to like in the side at the moment.
Plenty to dislike as well.

We will be right - might not win the flag but we can cause some damage once the new players work out where they fit in the side.

I think the 0-4 start makes for interesting reading but is a misleading stat. 3 losses against the three top teams can be expected but those games are out the way now. Easier pickings will follow. Glenelg I think was an anomaly. I agree they'll more than likely be 3-4 pretty soon.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
