Well done Eagles and thanks!!
Thanks for exposing our weaknesses and showing us what areas we need to work on.
Hate losing now but prefer round four compared to September/October.
We were as bad as you were good. Not an excuse, fact.

I really love banter with the opposition supporters, especially Central and Port. Glenelg and North okay, South and West have none.

BUT next to the Strut tossers, the Wiggles supporters are an obnoxious bunch of challenged individuals, and I really do hate you all!!

Awfully kind of you not to put us in the same category as Sturt supporters, Fester.

Only one small step behind them, and closing the gap very, very quickly!

Eagles too big, too quick and were focussed for a full game.
This was a loss we actually had to have because we haven't played four quarters of "clicked on" footy yet this year. Good timing before the GF rematch this week, so hopefully Bass (who has to bear some responsibility also) has the team in the room of mirrors this week.
Steve Bradbury and Michael Milton. Aussie Legends.

Eagles were far too good on the night.
Norwood were terrible, didn't look interested, not desperate enough, thoroughly out played all night.
Hopefully its a big wake up call to everyone at the club.

Yep agree with that Pels
But there were players doing stupid things on both sides . Stepping over boundary lines punching players in the vision of the umpires !! Vince giving away how many frees and 25's .
Umpires were shocking in both grades Friday night IMHO.

Thank goodness coach Godden changed track on Friday night, a devotee of three to four talls up forward has rarely worked, also his reluctance to blood youngsters was turned over by including 2 first gamers. Godden was handed a gift wrapped present in the form of Vince, Smith, Mitchell, Sumner and Allmond being available making his job of presenting a balanced team much easier, he might now realise that two tall forwards surrounded by four smalls is the way to go.
Norwood fans keep talking about the loss they had to have could also be said about the Eagles loss to Westies, it looks like they responded well and learnt something, now let it continue.
Jarrad Allmond is an unheralded player but a vital part of the team as he can fulfill many important roles and goes a long way in giving balance to the team.

Eagles supporters no different to any other supporters.

The only exception is that jerk who always stands in the centre of the ground, who always wears eagles colours, looks to be 35-40, brown hair and sneakers. Every match for the last 5 years he attends the game and regardless of whether we win or lose the game or how well the opposition plays he always blames the umpire, hurls abuse at other supporters and sooks when we lose. I'm sure everyone has seen him (generally you can hear him before you can see him). He is a complete embarrassment to eagles supporters.

And I have heard a few comments from Eagles fans that make me cringe!!
But you know that all teams have them Friday night there was one Norwood fan making a fool of himself drunk as a lord .And yelling out how great Norwood were !! And yes they were 6 goals down at the time !

Take it from me Kane Mitchell is a very good player, have watched him playing in the WAFL, once he finds his feet in SANFL will be a great asset for the Eagles, can hurt u both ways and very skillful. Glad he has gotten a chance to be picked up by an AFL club, was always a very consistent player for Claremont.

Cheers

This is a comment I made at halftime of the Eagles West game. Off topic I know but I don't rate Eagle supporters either.

Wind is quite swirly here WCP

Halftime

Eagles 3.4
West 7.9

Some Eagles supporters

My kids and I were abused by Eagle supporters before we walked in the gate because unlike West the Eagles didn't need our money (gate money). Plenty of expletives used. Then sat down and coped tirade again for supporting a crap team with a crap game style. That dude left half way through the third quarter ;)

Don't mind some banter but this went way past it and with two young kids with me it was totally wrong

well I apologise for Eagles Fans Brodlach .But every team has them . I've been threatened by a little grey haired old man of a norwood fan who wanted to abuse some lady Eagles fans. I laughed at him when he wanted to take me behind the grandstand a few years back. Also got told to get a fn job in the same GS pity the norwood bloke looked unemployed to me ;)
And at Unley a few cars back some one tried to pinch the LPG number plates . And we wont mention cheer squads !! So every team has them!!

Great new game style implemented versus the slow rubbish versus the Bloods.
162 handballs, 42 more than Norwood, Eagles continued to move the ball on fast by hand and ran in numbers. Wonderful viewing and good to see the coaching staff respond from that toweling we received a fortnight ago!
