i was there and agree. perrie looked slow, sloppy and was well beaten on the night. baysrule, has ian never played under lights before? never played with different people? i would hope he improves with the $$$$ hes taking. but hey if he fits in really well then thats ok if he doesnt perform.

what was the reasoning behind billy neely disappearing at about half time? game on the line still then and he was no where to be seen?

horrocks, wilson and welsh all played very well with davis-neale getting busy after half time.

The bucks are irrelevant, facts are there is a big gap between Div 4 Saafl and GSFL A grade. He will only get better so let's not be too harsh. You don't play AFL if you are a dud. :)

Perrie can play. First game for a new club & in a new league, wouldn't read to much in to it. Let's just hope he doesn't have a big one this week.

Did Daisy Menner have the job on Perrie? Kept him quiet a couple of years ago in div 4 too.

think mennar played on davis-neale. kept him reasonably quiet til half time then davis-neale got on top after that.

With one round down, still a bit difficult to get a decent read on where everyone sits in the pecking order.

Todays games:

GPE v Yank: From what I heard Yank werent overly impressive against Pongy and Goolwa were pretty competitive against the Bays. Could be the game to get Goolwa some confidence with their new stars getting used to the team and comp. Good chance to state their case at home, but the smart money will be on the proven Yank to get the chocolates. Yank by 15-30

LC v Compass: Creek will be keen to get some early wins after the loss to the Dees and their slow start in 2012 - should be too good for Compass at home. LC by 45+

Pongy v Bays: Pongy gave Yank a run for 3 quarters and Bays had Goolwa's measure on the scoreboard all day last week. Bays class should be enough to see them win fairly well. No love lost between these 2, esp after the Neely incident last year. Bays 40-50

Strath v McLaren: With the return of some players and a new coach Strath will look to move back into finals contention in 2013. A good win over Compass first up. McLaren didnt look as bad as the scoreboard showed last week, but Strath should have their measure. Strath 50-70

VH v Willunga: Dees showed they are ready to rumble this year kicking 9-4 to 2-1in the last term over the reigning premiers in round 1 and Victor made short work of McLaren with quite a few players yet to make an appearance. Interesting to see how the bolstered Victor line-up performs against the (in my opinion) premiership favourites. Willunga 15-25.

Creeks might have to wait another week or 2 to open their account.
Down by 3 goals at 1/2 time to Mt. Compass, Creeks look little chance of getting back into the match.
Creeks are a shadow of last years premiership team atm, only fielding about 8 - 9 players from that team today.
Missing a few today due to a wedding but even tho they've got big numbers to pick from, depth in quality is an issue.

Ya right JJ, with a wedding and some injuries LC were missing 17 players over their 2 senior sides and 8 from the A,s. Take nothing away from Mt C as they deserved the win but don't read much into it. The side that played yesterday was nothing like the one that played Willunga and will be different again come Thursday against Strath. Once we can settle a line up things will change. Yesterday lots of guys out of position, pinching from Peter to pay Paul. Had a chance to look at a lot of kids and some looked ok. #hawknation.
