He cannot articulate correctly and he destroys the Queen's English in the process and comes across as an uneducated buffoon! His sporting knowledge as it appears to me is limited to the Crows, a bit of Power, Norwood FC and a bit of Glenelg FC. He hasn't got a clue about the rest of the SANFL yet he is State Selector FFS!

I agree...he is embarrassing to listen too!

I think he got the gig as he worked there and mates look after mates.

how else would Ginever get a gig?

McDermott - he is so off the mark with his assessments and opinion re the AFL let alone the fact he has NO ****' clue about the SANFL.

When Rowey actually talks footy he's not so stupid, and at least tries to pump up the SANFL when given the chance.

McDermott on the other hand.....
I think he wants us gone!!

While I have no love for Port at all, I cant believe an Adelaide Footy Show (lets admit they hardly cover anything else and when they do they have no idea) would not have at least some Port Adelaide influence in a 2 team town.

Graham Cornes is very well informed and knowledgable on many sports compared to the tripe I've read on here particlularly in the cricket and other sports forum.

I admired his patience in dealing with the Power and Crow nuffies who ring up to "contribute" to the sports show.

@ Dutchy one very good reason why the set up is like it is on fiveAA in terms of presenters, they've done their reserach. Over 50% of their audience are Crows fans. 25% if that Port Power and barely 25% other clubs. they pander to their majority audience.

If one club is over catered to for their audience share it is Port Power, that's when I generally turn it over when they have their power player segment on and other Power interviews.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

AA has had a dip in ratings in recent times I believe. There's probably some good reasons for that.

Re Cornes' knowledge of other sports being decent, I haven't come across that. Infact I'm not sure he even knows that much about football. Sure he probably knows about coaching philosophies, and how to lose Grand Finals against Port, but I recall reading a post from a knowledgeable Norwood fan, that Cornes wasn't even aware that Paul Weston had played for the Redlegs.

I think essentially though the AA sports show is an Aussie Rules (and to a lesser extent cricket) show, but they pretend to be a general sports show, to broaden their audience. kG was good at pretending he was enthusiastic about other sports, including his claims of his support for his "beloved" West Adelaide Soccer Club.
