Mate anyone of my era who was there when Glenelg kicked 49 goals against us can take a loss or 2.

Don't worry the signs are promising - we'll be back

I think you are right Dogwatcher it was a night game at the Parade i was there for this game 2 to 3 short haired Norwood supporters after the game harassed Central fans and one particular familyafter they then went on a rampage down the Parade and smashed a few shop windows these clowns were arrested and charged i guess this is the reason night games at the Parade were canned.

Correct, it was a night of shame at the Parade, I had taken my wife that night and were about to head down the parade for coffee after the game and got caught up in the capsicum spray etc and the more we tried to go on our way the more we were forced downwind into the cloud of spray.

The whole issue was years ago now, and the lads were permanently banned from the Parade ground itself and as I understand were dealt with by the courts fairly severely, not to mention by the police on the night, justifiably I thought considering the affray and damaged caused.

Watching night football at the Parade on Friday night's has a massive bonus to all concerned, the big crowd, the much improved and now best lighting of any SANFL ground, the the enclosed wonderful atmosphere with tough no quarter given by either side football on display and finally the array of before and after food and drink establishments on the Parade.

Time those larrikans and the after effects on the NFC/CDFC to show great footy in such a good atmosphere should not be shown any further credence, I say that with an eye always to be aware of past history with regards to immediate security if required, but not kowtowed by this single past event into the future.

A group of 4, should never be a final judgement on a crowd of nearly 7000 that night.

So, Bring back night games at the Parade between these 2 clubs as a matter of priority.

Cheers.

Was that the game in 2002 when Norwood won 20-2 to 17-3 or something? One of the very best games of football I've ever seen. There was a little bit of a strange mood that night. Dogs fans seemed as happy as you could be losing a game while there was a lot of anger from a few Norwood fans. If you'd not seen the score and just judged by the behavior of the crowd leaving (at least where I was) you'd have sworn Norwood lost.

But yes, a long time ago and a very few. Don't see why security shouldn't back themselves to stamp out an issue caused by a very select few.

No Thanks. Keep the ban. I like not having night games at Norwood. The less night games the better. Disappointed there is anight game at Glenelg this week I thought the residents didn't want us there after dark either.

2.10 pm (2.20 pm if you want to be really traditional) Saturday afternoon is the time for SANFL football thank you very much.

I think you're both right.
Like 'Go Legs', I don't believe any ground should be off limits to any club for night footy.
Although I can handle the odd night game, especially Friday nights in the warmer months, overall I'm with 'Groucho' on this one.
Give me daylight and traditional Satdy arvo games anytime.

Have been thinking that as well.
Maybe we've lost the first three because they're night games??? Doesn't bode well for Saturday

I'd never see a game if this were the case.

Devastated there were no Sunday games scheduled.

I love day games at Norwood almost as much as sex ...... oops sorry Honey hahahahaha.
Seriously though there are some games that will attract more people at night and those games are against our most bitter rivals .... Centrals are one of those for sure.
Time to give it another chance.

Norwood skinheads bashed a bloke whilst he was standing with his wife & 2 kids, who were looking in a shop window on The Parade.
