footymad, injuries means that at no stage this year have we had a full strength team.
been missing at least 6 of our better players each week.
injuries plus other things but mainly that, its not an excuse but when the depth is not there like it has been in recent years it shows a lot more.

sam braidwood is a BIG man, great hands and i hear as fit as he has been for years.
is a hard man to stop at the best of times!

Let's see how good the crystal ball works this week....

Victor to beat Saints by 2 goals...
Encounter Bay to beat Compass by 8 points...
Langhorne to beat Willunga by 25 points...
Strath to beat Mclaren by 32 points...
Myponga to beat Yank by 47 points...
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

You idiot!
Poach is a dirty word!
Why would the Bays poach a ruckman when they already have the best one in the league?
Possibly the bloke you are referring to came to the bays of his own back due to having previously played with a few blokes there.

footymad todd steele is the best ruckman in the league.
bayliss is good but your mistaken if your going to tell people bayliss is better.
you wont find many that argue with it either.

Yeah big Ox James is also a good ruckman but I think Steely would still be the best going around... as far as winning taps goes anyway. I think James does more around the ground. Takes a lot of marks.

Well boys you'd have to be mad to even consider thinking that Baylis didnt have Steeles number in the Bays Vs Willies game in rd 2. Baylis ended up rucking the entire game out and played off against steele and co - and did a very very good job to take the honours on the day.

No sign of Cahill at bay land.

As the Hawks have crushed all comers so far this year by at least 10 goals inluding perrenial powerhouse Willunga, How many teams have the BELIEF that they can challenge them for the Flag?????

I know its a long way off yet, and Injuries and Weather can play a big part on GF day, but the Creeks seem to have the Flag at their mercy this early in the season.

Whilst i havent had a good think about it, realistically, is their any thing that can be done to narrow the gap in standards between clubs?

Over the last 20 - 30 years, 80% of the time, the Premiers are obvious well B4 the 1st round is completed which isn't good for the comp. and as a result, supporters lose interest and stop attending as i have done myself.

Any Thoughts?????

JJ the creeks are clear favourites and from all stories an awesome team! They are a force at the minute but I like to think that after playing them one or two times 9round one and finals) they will be pegged back by clubs.
Personally I'd be just as worried finishing 5th as I would finishing top without a defeat for the year. Inurys are funny but so are tactics which will come into play in round 2.
The creeks are proof that confidence in football goes just as far as the cash you spend.
The only thing clubs can do to slow the creek train is simply cut off there supply to the big fella up forward, pressure the mid-field into making decisions and sacrfice the half forward flanks by using quicker running players who will be able to match the run of the creek half backs. Either that or forfeit... :D
