Had a great night last night despite it taking over an hour and a half for the "flipper fingers" to get up to speed.

Best scores on the night:

908 Million on Getaway
571 Thousand on Magic (1979 Stern machine)
281 Million on Creature from the Black Lagoon without scoring a single jackpot

Great to meet Mickey though once I get stuck into the games (pinball or video) I can be a bit antisocial. Plus Simon talked up my skills and as predicted I played like crap for half the night. I will be back sooner rather than later.

If anyone here is a Pinball or Video Game fan looking for something to do on a Friday night I'd suggest getting down to Amusement Worx.

Cheers

Rob

Was good to meet you RJM.. you made my 770million on the Getaway look like child's play!

Will be back again Friday, a great night out. Especially if you have kids.

Great initiative! I hope to get there with a pinball buddy with whom I spent an enormous amount of coin esp in the early 90s on Addams Family, Start Trek TNG. My 2 all time favourites.

Probably sacrilegious to mention here but for a mid-week fix there's a great pinball simulator (Pinball Arcade - for consoles, tablets etc) on which you can relive many classic games, including Black Hole, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the almighty ST:TNG which I've been flogging for a fortnight since I discovered it. Make it so!

Really? That one was awesome. And one for the real old school fans 'Cosmic Princess'.

I was more of a video game player

Galaxian
Galaga
Moon Cresta
1942
Time Pilot
Dig Dug
Jungler
Uni Wars
Burger Time
Rally X

all favourites of mine. Might have to check that place out when I come to Adelaide.

regards,

REB

2 of the games I gained any credibility at, the third being "Xevious".
I was still only about 9 years old when the deli replaced "Galaxian" with "Moon Cresta", so never got to develop much skill on that one.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Could I assume you attended Flinders Uni during this time Zipzap? Music listening centre and Tavern?

Addams family and Star Trek TNG are usually both on the floor to play.. pinball arcade is great fun when you get a quiet moment at work. Not quite as good as strolling into the lounge room and playing your own pinball machine though ;)

Ah gotcha....it's not the hardest pinny to beat though. The old school ones where you had to knock down the targets again and again with a couple of ramps they were pretty hard.

I used to hate 'Haunted House'. Confused the shit out of me LOL.

I do actually own a cocktail cabinet which was a 1942, transferred into a 64 game cabinet, including 1942 and some of the other games mentioned.

Problem is, I hardly get to play it.

You assume right! Ah the music centre - how good was that? Followed by a pint and bowl of chips and gravy. Memories!
Must admit a lot of my pinballing was done downstairs at Proscenium, whilst seeking refuge from the Goths upstairs dancing to Sisters of Mercy. And later at Qld Uni which had an awesome pinball arcade lock-in on a Saturday morning.

Oh of course, but it's a pretty decent alternative. Loved Black Hole as a kid and to play it again is a real treat.

Assuming you could find one, around how much would something like ST:TNG cost? I assume you'd have to have a fair bit of technical know-how?

Hello!
By cabinet does that mean it's a stand up machine or a table top?

Brings back memories. I tended to play the stand up variety more. The Blue and White, where I spent my formative teens, only had stand ups. So I got used to them. 20c meant I could play for about 45 mins to an hour.
