Eags by 13 points. Westies just don't seem to win at Woodville.

IMO the game will be won and lost in the midfield. Our backs is our strength and I think the Eagles forwards is their strength. Our forwards and their backs are a little under maned. I would have been more confidant if Tuck was playing. Cassisi, if he plays better than last week, is a bonus. Gray lacked touch last week so hopefully he improves a bit and stretches the Eagles defence. Guessing Thompson will line up on him

Eagles are certainties for this one. West are allergic to Woodville Oval.

No such things as certainties IMHO
If the Eagles who played the second half last week show up in the first quarter .Could be a very high scoring game if they do !!

West far too good in every position. Thought Day and Jarrad provided some run and Rowntree and Powell some grunt, but Westies had 21 contributors and the Eagles had about 5. West made the Eagles look slow and dominated the air in both 50's. Early days, but it looks like West and Norwood will set the bar again this season and the Eagles have a long way to climb.

The Eagles have some really brave supporters. A group of about 10 hero's on the southern end slagging of West as well as Eagle players. The little guy with the motor bike helmet was lucky not to get his head punched in. Not so brave when you walked past dickhead at the end of the game. Well done West.

Mentioned on the live scores thread that they were very mouthy at the start of the match before leaving 5 minutes into the third quarter

West very impressive and looks like so far this season a more direct and attacking game plan and they have some real talent to come back too. Top 3 again easily for the Bloods if this form continues.

Only caught the second half on the telly.
I didn't think we were witches hats. West, though, were far superior in every facet of the game, strength, speed, skill.

Not sure where to here for us. Last year we were a bit unsettled for vary reasons early on and it was the desire that was disappointing. At the moment apart from Kirk and Allmond we seem at full strength, but no way near the pace.

Good luck to West. If they can weave that more attacking and pacy style into their defensive game plan, then I think we've got an exciting competition for the flag. Anderson and Tuck should replace the Carusos and the Fishers. Only query might be in ruck if the improving Nelson goes down.

And this sliding rule will do everyone in this year if they pay frees to Homburg (?) and then against Powell 30 seconds later for their respective actions in the third quarter. Homburg's was the very definition of the rule (rightly or wrongly bought in) but got a free for to high when need in the back of the shoulderblades, Powell standing side by side his West opponent just got to the ball first and lower.

Having seen the Homburg free from the outer it was clearly a free kick. Watched the game on iView and you couldn't see the wack he got to the head

Nelson goes down we will struggle in ruck but maybe the club might get someone to help him out ;)
