What is the actual point of your response? If you are offering free car parking for a SANFL game then have it open at least at the start of the reserves or state a time when it is open from! How hard is it to open gates which clearly is an issue at Elizabeth given my other complaint re the Oval Gates to exit at the end of the game? Great innovation free "security" parking but poorly managed!

Yes that is where the club went wrong. I will send them an email to request from this point on the advertised opening time is clearly displayed on the temporary parking spots which are the school premises and the semi vacant block down the road.

They did screw up with the opening of the gate again, and has happened on too many occasions so I agree with you there.

Well done Cocks beaten by a more experienced side however not a bad effort by the Dogs considering they had SEVEN first game and second game players they can only improve as the season progresses when they will gel and have more league games under their belts it will be a tough ask for these boys again next Saturday night against the Legs and also for the rest of the year but i will be there.

I thought Castree was very impressive with his ball winning and use. I've read where he is Rick MacGowan's nephew and he certainly looked to me to be almost a clone. I thought that he was the pick of the new players. Meulendyks, was also impressive early. Normally Central would have only blooded one or two of those players and we all can only imagine how differerent it would be to bring in one or two talented juniors as happened with Centrals for a decade or more.

Well done North easily to good on the night, was glad to see Chad playing league football again but i do fear the extra pace in league games compared to trial games/reserves footy caught him out again.

Alright im not going to be very popular with this view but so be it. The squad we have imho is still capable of pushing for the top 3 or at very least making the 5 BUT at the moment i think the coaching commitee are coaching and selecting very poorly at the minute.

North kicked 6 goals in 13 minutes in the second quarter. 10 of those minutes Hardy was rucking, enough said on that topic get two ruckmen in ASAP plain and simple.

We cant continue to play Reichart, Prior, Waldhutter, Haydon all in the same defence as 'undersized' defenders. They all lack pace (Waldutter the slight exception), they are all average with the ball in hand and are all playing on opponents much bigger and stronger.

Why Waldhutter is taking our kick ins is beyond me, i love everything he does on a football field except kick the ball. He is probably the worse kick in the league side yet is taking the kick ins. Two North goals in the second resulted directly from his kick ins. That has to change immediately.

The same as last year us kicking a point = opposition taking a mark on their half forward flank within 2 kicks 2 handballs. We must have our setups all wrong we terrible at this last year and we are even worse this year.

We still lack the pace the exact same as last year, i didnt see the ressies yesterday (cant imagine to many played well looking at the score) but we need to get the likes of Barmby, Edmead, S.Milne into the side and inject some pace.

The final worry is the discipline of our experienced players. Last week it was Thommo giving away an early stupid 'after disposal' free, this week it was Obst. Its going to be hard enough as is, we dont need these bloke giving away stupid uneccassary down the grounds.

The only resaon im dissapointed is i still believe we have enough talent there, we just need to get back to basics and a couple of suttle selection and structural changes could see us performing very well.

Sorry for boring you. run, duck and cover now.

Not at all WHUFC , personally I agree with most of what you said, it's a shame some on the CDFC forum can't be as constructive or analytical as you - knee jerk vitriol is not what we need from "supporters"

I am not disappointed at all in how we have played the last couple of weeks. We have lost a lot of experience and are clearly rebuilding. We should be thankful for the last 13 years. It is something no other club has done. Now we get to see the next bunch of kids coming through. I'm excited by what I have seen from some of them. Unlike last year our effort is certainly there. We are just lacking in a couple of areas.

Last nights game showed that we didn't make any mistakes in getting rid of Chad or Westhoff.

Agree the effort is definatly there and in no way or shape could the players commitment be questioned.

It is an inexperienced side but the inexperience in the defence is whats killing us, with a small shuffle and a couple of inclusions we could spread out the inexperience.

The worry for me is the glaring issues from last year such as kick ins both our and oppositions, the lack of pace have not to seemed to improve and if anything have alarmingly gone backwards.

Personally next week i want us to line up with our strongest defence and then work the team from there example being

HB: Goodrem/Thomas/Symes- Collier- Barmby
B: Waldhutter/Reichart- Hardy- Nash

You know Nash won't be selected.
He is out of favour with those that really select the side.

What are you smoking in your previous quote? Make the 5? Personally I can't even see which of the 6 remaining teams we can beat to record a win for the season.

Sorry whufc this isn't meant as a personal attack on you, I am just REALLY disappointed with the form so far this year. I am having terrible flashbacks to before we won Premierships.
Being satisfied with "efforts" like the first 2 weeks is why we NEVER won Premierships in our first 36 years. I don't want to relive those days again. :(

They're probably the same wankers who started chanting "Jonas out!" during the 1998 Elimination Final against Port or ripped up their season ticket and membership and threw it onto the floor in the clubrooms during the CD Vs PA match in early 2000...

North were far too good on the night... and I have a feeling they will be all year. I see Norwood, North and West being a class above the rest of us at the moment.
Gordon is definitely an impressive addition and why Lewis Johnston is not playing for the Crows, I do not know. He always destroys us.
It will be a long (or should that be short.. as I can't see us making the top three this year) season this year but if we can improve each week, I will be happy. The young additions to the team (Tim M, Castree, Glenn, Hewitt, Hill etc.) are all showing reasonable signs and could be quite serviceable players.
On the Rails, I had no problem parking in the secured Bowling Club area at half time in the Reserves and it was free, as was the semi-vacant lot the club offers down the road.

Cheers

Dont get me wrong not for one second do i think Roy should be sacked. I do believe though supporters can have a different opinion and shouldn't just defend every move the club makes regardles. You would never catch me abusing players etc etc, ripping up membership cards, chanting coaches out etc etc

Is it just me but there seems to be a massive change in attitude both on and off the field at the club in the last 2 years.

ONFIELD
-the whole waiting at the race at the parade very unlike us over the last few years
-change in structure all of a sudden 2 specialist ruckmen is forbidden
-off field player issues

All a sudden there alot of excuses coming out of the club which was very unlike the board during the naughties. Now we are hearing recruiting is to hard, now we are complaing about players leaving to amatuer/country comps, now our supporters are rubbish for not showing.

We were one of the few clubs to not have a family/season launch day for supporters. The days of seeing the players in the community promoting the club seem very rare. We use to have players at the shopping centres on almost a weekly basis.

Im interested to hear others opinions.

I know you keep harping on about having the 2 ruckman, but who is the 2nd bigman you expect Roy to select?

Crows Rookie Jack Osborn has a groin complaint and could be out for a while. Josh Wilson is still recovering from knee surgery, Matthew Claughton, who played 1 League game last year, is failing to have an impact at Reserves level and there is no other young lad ready to step up.

Not sure who you want picked as the 2nd ruck?
